I think they are stalling...

...to see the fallout from the playoffs...i'm sure a couple of decent coaches may lose their jobs for their team's under performance...I know Marc Crawford's name has been bandied about

It is likely going to be him, unless something completely unexpected happens.

But the jury's still out on him a bit. I still think they shoulda fired JFJ and promoted Quinn to GM and then hired Maurice as coach.

I think that Maurice, Crawford, or even the Murray from LA (can never remember which is which) would be solid choices. I think that whoever they pick the will need a Maurice type coach for the Marlies, he did a great job there. The kids really looked comfortable whenever they got called up.

The Habs go with Huet..an unproven..and he plays well...Carolina has Ward, unproven, he's playing well..Bryzkalov is playing for the Dukcs...need I go on?? There's lots of unproven goalies in this league, who have come out of nowhere to play well for their teams...How many losses did Aubin have this season???...I know only a short time, and some say not against the teams, but i really think it's should be his job to lose...bring in an experienced backup with playoff experience, but I think Aubin has shown enough that he deserves a legitimate shot at the # 1 job...

Maybe it's time to put a young guy with new ideas behind the bench. Besides, the worst he can do is to miss the playoffs. But watch out if the leafs make it, anything can happen then. Start dreaming:)

As much as I liked Quinn, I think there just had to be someone to take the hit. It can be argued that he didn't coach the common sense sort of game, matching lines etc. I can't confirm this as totally true, but he apparently snubbed Sundin's suggestion to put Wellwood on his line because he thought he could work well with the young guy after they clicked during one game. It'll be good to get a fresh face in there for the Leafs, and I think Maurice will do a good job, provided that Ferguson gets his act together and gets some decent talent for Maurice to work with

I think Maurice will be more of a players' coach. He has all but said he will listen to, and give big minutes to, Mats Sundin, which is a great start. Look what the guy did down the stretch with 23 minutes plus a night.

He will also get rid of the poison in the dressing room. hopefully starting with Tie the guy.......

Look for some great results and lots of hard work, a trademark of any team he has coached......
