I'm flying in a day early before a business meeting.
Company isn't picking up the check for that day.

Day rate (near the airport) is 90.

Should I take that - and use the bus/subway to get around for that day.

Or is there cheaper options (Under 50 roach motel) around that would enable me to get a rental car for the day.

(For a day trip - would a rental car be worth it ?)

Just hoping for some input.
I'm working on a limited budget - defiantly want to enjoy one of the finer ladies - but also want to do the touristy things too.

There is no bus or subway (public transport) that runs from the airport to anywhere you'd want to go.

You'd have to take an airport shuttle to downtown to hook into the public transit.

Where is the company having you stay?

there are lots of roach motels around for about 50 - 60 a night but I wouldn't stay in them.

If your company is setting you up in a downtown hotel, I'd stay there one extra night. It'd work out the same as if you stayed at a roach motel and rented a car. If you're downtown, there is lots to see and do within walking distance. IE: planetarium, museum, art gallery, hockey hall of fame, etc.

Plus you could always cab it for the day for a lot less than a rental car. If you want to do things in the core, you'll end up paying through the nose for parking the rental downtown.

Staying out by the airport.

I thought there was bus service from the airport - subway - downtown // Not my favorite way to get around, but if it works and is cheap - I'll give it a try.

It just rubs me the wrong way to shell out 90 bucks for a place i'll only be using for a few hours at best - for some sleep, shower, and hopefully fiki fiki.

Priceline ...for Toronto

Try www.priceline.com before you fly anywhere. You can put bid in...do not take their listed price.

I recently got Marriot Airport for $70 and last year the Sheraton Airport. I am sure you can get the 3 star hotels even better. You are not guaranteed which hotel but quality of hotel you bid on and area....even downtown.

Here is another site to which has bloggers in different cities telling you what bids were accepted.

Then of course, with what you save you can cum to me for some stimulating adventures downtown.

There is TTC to downtown and/or subway...

Yes... there is TTC buses to downtown from the airport.

For sure I know there is from airport hotels... what one or what intersection you talking? I know for sure cause I use them plenty of times.

I don't remember the route number but from The Marriot for example (Carlingview&Dixon) there is the Dixon Rd bus to Lawerence West Subway Stn. Mind you it takes about 45 mins to get there... but is avail if you choose.

Cheers.

Use Priceline..., get a 4* downtown for about $85-95 including all fees.

I have never done an outcall from a hotel, but if you get a roach hotel, don't you risk pissing off any respectable SP.

Company has me at the Quality Suites Airport on Carlingview Drive.

I may just see if i can get something downtown for the nite - so I can do the tourist thing,
and head back to the airport early the next day before my meeting.

Thanks for that link to the travel blog - some good info there - I hadn't really thought about bidding w/ priceline - even though I knew it was there.

Again - thanks for all of the response !

I have done OutCalls at some nice hotels, Marriott, Sheraton, etc. No problems at all! Ever.

In fact the higher end hotels-like the Hilton are better then like the Hampton's. The employees mind their own business. I notice that walking the ladies out to her ride afterwards. At the front desk the cheper hotels the workers might look at you, at the higher end places, they seem not to notice you.

Not always but more likely. Now the higher end places do have those "boys" who can park your car standing by the front door, they ALWAYS stare :p
