I think Dion will be a far better PM that Harpo.
No, he won't.

Worse still, a Primer Minister Dion will be cow-toeing to the NDP and the Bloc since they will be the only reason he'll even be there in the first place. He will therefore, in essence, be a puppet controlled by socialists and separatists. This whole thing stinks like a steaming pile of horse shit.

Nothing more than a power play. We can all forget about democuracy. Elections are more than just about who governs, they are also about mandates. this is just a backhanded way to take the power out of voters hands. Jack Layton will do and say anything to gain power. The country has already said no to Dion. This phantom menace of an economic crisis is just an excuse to overthrow the government. They will bankrupt this country with a huge stimulsu package and it will have zero effect if the US does not recover. I think it is prudent to play the wait and see game until the USA comes out with the details of their bailout plan and then co-ordinate our efforts to maximize the effect of our response.

If this government is so bad then I say give it to the people to decide. I would rater see an election called than have the Block playing a major part national policy. This is a deal with the Devil the rest of Canada will not soon forget. I guarantee voters would not split their votes if they knew in advance that we would have a coalition government that would not represent the sentiment of the nation.

I am disgusted and this is the exact reason we need a 2 party system, so we can guarantee that the elected government will rule in a democratic society

Did you feel that way in 2004 when Harper wrote to the governor general uring her to allow him to form a coalition with the NDP and the Bloc were Parliament to pass a motion of no confidence in the Liberal minority?

Or doy only feel that way when it is the Liberals who are in opposition?

Let us all hope they can convince Jean Chretien to take the reins again.

Are you insane? He screwed us over more that once and you want to give him the opportunity to do it again? Paul Martin is apparently involved in this fiasco too. The Liberal/NDP/Bloc alliance is totally assinine.

Jack Layton and his wife can't even pay their way in life, the idiots lived in susidized housing for years. And you wonder why there is no low income housing available in Toronto. he is an un-etheical scumbag which fits right into his current behaviour.

Dion will indeed be a puppet but it won't be the NDP or Block pulling the strings.

The winner of the upcoming Liberal leadership race will be the next Prime Minister. This is significant since there is a very real possibility the next PM could be an unknown quantity to most Canadians.

A fine model of democracy we have, eh?

So he hasn't really ever worked then.

Him and chow chow grinning like the cat that ate the canary is a truly sickening sight.
