"The Silent Partner" a Canadian film from the mid 70's with Christopher Plummer and Elliot Gould.
Any episode of "Columbo" with Peter Falk.

I have to agree with this, I saw it a long time ago, it's still in my memory bank. Christopher Fuckin Plummer's chops are still sharp as a razor, he made Knives Out great. In The Silent Partner he plays a psycho Santa attempting to cover his tracks. Well worth watching!

Sussanah York was still very hot as the mystery woman. Another creepy film that came out that year was David Cronenberg's The Brood.

David Cronenberg, now retired, and Producer Ivan Reitman did very well at the box-office due to the low budgets of his early films.

His first film Shivers had a big ripple effect. Ridley Scott was paying attention using the concept of invasive species for Alien. Then Star Trek:TNG did their own Cronenberg episode with Conspiracy in S1.

Not a thriller but another mindfuck.

The movie is called "Womb" and it's about a woman who falls in love with her childhood friend when they meet again as adults but he dies in a tragic accident. Deeply depressed at his loss, she decides to clone him and gives birth to "him" and raises him from a child into a young man. It's a dramatic tale of sadness, love, loneliness, deceit, and even incest.

What would you consider to be the best psychological thriller? If you don’t have an idea for the best then you could state your favourite.

Psychological thrillers are one of my favourite genres. It’s like you have an idea in mind and you know what’s going to happen but no, throw out your theory and start again. The twists, the turns, the surprises. I love it!

My list (so far) would contain
- Shutter Island
- Seven
- The Sixth Sense
- Momento

I’m a big admirer of the two features directed by Fabian Bielinsky before he tragically died at age 47. Nuevas Reinas or Nine Queens, and El Aure or The Aura, both of which starred the great Ricardo Darin, are superbly written and directed crime capers that will keep you guessing the whole way through. Ricardo Darin also starred in The Secret in Their Eyes which was previously mentioned by Don Draper and is one of the best movies I’ve ever seen. The soccer stadium scene is brilliantly done. Ignore the lame Hollywood remake with Julia Roberts.
