Hey Folks:

I just made an unusual impulse buy over the net. I ordered a TomTom One 3rd Edition GPS Navigation System from bestbuy a few minutes ago. I don't know squat about them, but it was on sale, and I'm interested in using one. Anyone have any personal experience with this model? Did I just throw away good money, or is this a good unit to start out with? Thanks. Hopefully my days of getting lost on the way to a session are over!!!

I picked up 1 of these as well. They were all sold out everywhere a week earlier, but by chance stumbled upon the Bestbuy in Brampton had availability.

I did some research on the different types, and this TomTom just seemed to good to pass up for the discounted price.

Its a great instrument for beginners or just in general people who dont need anything too advanced. Its simple and pretty fast to learn what you are doing, has simple menu etc.

1 bad thing about it is that you can plan multiple routes, like say you have 5-6 places you need to go, you wont be able to plan all 5-6 at the time. another complaint is that it has no Text to Speech. But neither is too big of an issue for me.

I havent used it as much, but i have to say after playing around with it for a couple days, i am satisfied with this buy. I wont have to worry about getting lost going somewhere i dont know anymore.

I definitely recommend this GPS. Pick 1 up now if you still can.

Now, do I think this GPS is worth the regular price of $299? Definitely not!!
For that price, i would expect something a little more high-tech or more advance and be able to do more functions.
