Could get good.....

She's a shitty actress anyway. She has never impressed. She was probably hoping that he would do for her what he did for Nicole Kidman. Only one small difference - Nicole Kidman can act.....
As much as I loved Katie Holmes when she was younger, it is true that she's not a strong actress at all. It's funny, I always assumed part of the 'hidden' deal when they got married was that Cruise was going to make her a big star. But she hasn't been in anything of note since they got together. I'm pretty sure Batman Begins was before they hooked up, and she got booted from Dark Knight. Other than that, the only things I can remember her being in was Thank You For Smoking, which she was alright in, but had a supporting role, and the Kennedys miniseries which wasn't very good. She was Jackie O, and it was not a good casting choice. Maybe that's one of the issues, he never made her a big star

It'll be interesting if that guy that Phil quoted actually knows what he's talking about. If he does, it sounds like it'll be a war. I'm sure she knows a lot of interesting things about Tom and his private life. I expect he'll do everything in his power to prevent her from spilling her guts

I'm really interested in seeing his Lincoln biopic
Me too.

Daniel Day Lewis as Lincoln (supposedly).

That will be amazing, though Spielberg some times gets a little too schlocky.

Case in point from Saving Private Ryan:

Nice try....

Weird piece of trivia all three of his wives have been 33 at the time the divorce action was filed.

I found this info on another forum:

- Katie been planning for a year and half.
- Tom was informed via email from her lawyer
- She got him to sign over property in NY last year so she could fight him from here
- He has no lawyer ready.
- World War III is being threatened by Tom's ppl over Suri & Connor says Katie is a 'dead bitch walking'.
- Katie has the best divorce attorney on the east coast
- Tom will file his response in Cali
- Connor wants his dad to make sure she is 'confined to indie films'
- Tom is contemplating doing a 'Katie is a man eater interview'
- Katie says she will bust open the COS secrets - provided she gets some terms I wasnt able to see/overhear.
Don't know how long she has been thinking, but most people don't decide to file for divorce on the spur of the moment.

Smart move on her part to move to New York, she has been living there with her daughter for some months so she does have standing.

Due to that I doubt New York will say oh California you take over.

If she did "drop the bomb" in an e-mail from her lawyer - déclassé.

Connor and Tom are both well advised to keep their big mouths shut!

He might be gay but I would guess that at the very least he's bi sexual, since he does marry women and fathered Suri with Katie Holmes.

Not sure about the scientology thing, but who among us can say we've accomplished so much by age 49.
He' s a major star and respected actor, flies P51 mustangs, races motorcycles, does his own stunts, has an estimated net worth of $250 million (I frankly though it would be more).

I know he's got balls of steel to be able to do this.

I'm not sure there are words that can describe how absolutely fuckin' huge someone's balls have to be to do those stunts! Fuck me I was scared just watching the movie

You're obviously forgetting about Schindler's List which just happened to win the Academy Award for best picture and director.
Not at all. I think Schindler's list is a bad movie (though the credits roll was very well done). The Academy Awards are notorious for poor selections.

Really dude? I'm not going to go as far as to say he's the greatest actor of his generation, but he's pretty decent
He was hilarious in Tropic Thunder. He might be a nut, but he's a pretty good actor I think. Also Spielberg's a little hit and miss lately, but he's made a decent number of great movies in the past decade or so (Saving Private Ryan, Munich) I do agree he can be a bit overly sentimental and cloying, but he's still a damn good filmmaker. I'm really interested in seeing his Lincoln biopic
Really! People thought the Tropic Thunder thing was so zany... look.. it's Tom Cruise! It was just horrible. Then again, some people liked Jack and Jill.

As for Spielberg, I simply think he tries to be too serious and sucks the life out of things (or in the case of the last Indiana Jones movie, well.. South Park said it best). I did not like Private Ryan either (there I said it). I have not seen Munich or Tintin though, so maybe one of them is good.

For me, both of them make disposable movies. I can binge out on popcorn and enjoy them for what they are. But great? Not even remotely. Their movies simply do not face the test of time. Personal taste and all that of course...

+1
Schindler's List was pretty-much perfection in my view.
Saving private ryan
Munich
Jurassic park
...come'on now

In terms of Cruise meh.... the last Samurai is the only role I was moved by. I still haven't seen Born on the 4th of July.

His roles in A few good men and Jerry McGuire were classic characters in film history but not all that special in terms of his acting.
What Dreams may Come and a few of his others were just weird... Anyone can play his Mission Impossible Part - let's not talk about Cocktail lol. Meh...
I'll take Leonardo DiCaprio or Ryan gosling (ahhh.... perfection.... lol) over Cruise any day.

Tom Cruise is a shallow actor who hides that fact with histrionics. I remember a potential SO asking me to take her to see Born on the 4th July. I was so annoyed at being forced to endure the relentless whine that I dumped her. Martin Scorsese took on The Color of Money to get funding for The Last Temptation of Christ - what a waste of his valuable time they both were. The only reason I saw Tropic Thunder was to watch Robert Downey Jr spoof Russell Crowe and I didn't stay for the last five minutes. The sad part about Born in the 4th of July is that the two other actors vying for the role of Ron Kovic would have made the film infinitely better: Sean Penn and Eric Roberts.

And if you honestly believe that Tom Cruise is a great actor then what do you call this?

Understand that Tom is arguing that she hasn't been resident in New York long enough, she is arguing one of the exceptions apply.

The 4th of July was on CTV last night and I watched it up the point where he returned home in a wheelchair and then had to hit the sack. I noticed in the movie that Tom shoots a rifle lefthanded.

Katie Holmes: $cientology Is Watching Me

http://www.tmz.com/2012/07/01/katie-holmes-tom-cruise-divorce-scientology/

Katie Holmes believes Scientology now views her as a threat to the organization and has put a team on her tail ... sources close to the actress tell TMZ.

We're told Katie believes in recent weeks -- as the discord between her and Tom Cruise grew -- Scientology has been following her moves, especially in New York City.

This does not appear to be the mind of a paranoid person. People who have photographed Katie multiple times tell TMZ there have been several "mysterious" men and vehicles around Katie's apartment and following her when she's out.

Specifically ... a white Cadillac Escalade and black Mercedes SUV (see above) have been seen near Katie's NYC apartment for the past week.

FYI -- there is a publication that has put a tail on Katie, but the people doing that are separate from the people Katie believes have been dispatched from Scientology.

It is unclear if the two vehicles that have been constantly spotted near Holmes' pad are from Scientology or from the publication.

If Katie is able to keep the divorce in New York -- where courts generally like to award sole legal custody to one parent or the other when there is conflict -- proof that she's being tailed could help her case.

We put in a call to Scientology ... so far, no word back
