Ok since i know diddly squat about the two ....i know one thing i want new sttylin rims and apparently I am due for new tires

Now I have never bought any of those pimpin style sweet rims before and I just heard the rims I want are over 4000 buckeroos OMG thats insane !

I keep having to CLR my rims these nasty brake pads apparently keep getting them dirty .....what a nightmare !

So my question is is there a place like an aftermarket or seriously cheaper place then paying full price out there cause so far im coming up with nada

Also which tires do you guys recommend somewhere in the middle of the line ?

Thanks

A lot will depend on the vehicle they are going on, but if you are looking to "pimp" your ride be prepared to spend the big $.

It has been a while since I was in the business or even put other than factory wheels on any ride, heck I haven't bought any tires in almost ten years. I wear them out properly and hand the car back for a new one. The life span of tires these days is so much better than when I was in the business. Today 100K is almost a minimum that you should get out of a set before worrying about replacements.

I looked at an option for my Mini when I bought it and frankly I could not justify a 12% of overall purchase price for a set of rims and tires, they were nice but I settled for the stock wheels and tires.

yup. What kind of car do you drive. Different rims work better for specific models.

Lots of tires ot choose from too. Are you looking for summer high performance? All-Season?

Rims will be a matter of looks on the car and personal taste.

Tires will depend on your driving style, and how much city/highway driving you do.

Check out the the the classifieds/ads in Road & Track or Car & Driver... they usually have a few places that advertise all kinds of rims in all different price ranges. And with the strong Canadian dollar, it probably makes sense to buy them in the US and import them.

The only thing that might kill you on buying from the states is the shipping cost. Tires and rims can be freaking heavy and bulky. You're talking a small pallet at least....

But as others have said, rims and tires all depend on the make and model of car you have. Plus if you spend big bucks on custom rims you'll probably want a cheap steel set and snow buns for winter driving.

Changing your rims will not solve your brake dust problem. You have to change the brand or type of brake pads to reduce the brake dust.

I used to go to a place in Milton, it is on the West side of highway 25 south of Steeles, directly South of the 25 exit and the jail. It was a crazy guy operating out of a bunch of trailers in a residential area. But good products, knew what he was doing, and super low prices. I noticed that he had actually put up a building recently, but I have not been.

Correct,

They are still called Cheap Thrills, but in now way it is a dirty place anymore, they have clean up their act, and have a new shop on the same property. However they are not cheap anymore, but it really depends on what you're looking for, they have a showroom for you to look at what rims you like.

May I suggest get a rim that has the correct bolt pattern/offset for you're car. Don't get a rim and the guy/woman says that they have to alter the rim to fit you're car. They should know what correct rims should fit you're car just but telling them the make and model.

This is only true if you are going for a stock replacement setup.
Custom fitting of specific rims may be required depending on what you want and what you want to spend.
