Get it checked out. I discovered I have an acoustic neuroma (vestibular schwannoma).
Interesting, my ringing is only on one ear and I had virtigo on the same ear about 9 months ago. Did the epply and the virtigo went away. Wonder if it could be related.

I had my ear wax removed by my family doctor over a week ago. He used the syringe with water. I found that the ear where I have tinnitus it actually hurt a bit when the water went in with pressure. The ear without tinnitus no problem. So my tinnitus has now got to a point where it's constant and much louder. Also when I put my finger in the tinnitus ear I feel there is something different and wrong. Just some sensation like perhaps fluid or some slight pain. Same slight pain as when the doctor did the water syringe.

My tinnitus started over 2 years ago but it started very slow and wasn't constant or loud so I wasn't as concerned. Hoped it would just go away. Now that it's constant and lourder I'm concerned if it'll get even louder. I find that when I yawn or move my jaw it gets louder. When I'm chewing as I'm eating the volume changes with each chew. Neck position can sometimes also change the volume. I went through a period a few weeks ago where the tinnitus would match my pulse at times.

Does anyone else have similar experience? Particularly with jaw movement changing volume, ear feeling like something is wrong when sticking finger in, and tinnitus progressively getting worse?

Do you or did you use to wear ear buds, or headphones to listen to music for long periods of time, or just 1 ear while at work?
People do this all the time and put the volume louder than it should be without realizing it, especially with ear buds in 1 ear only. The damage is deafening and may result in tinnitus.

Check in with your family doctor again and get a referral to a ENT just to be sure.

Anyone here have tinnitus? A few days ago started hearing louder constant ringing in ear. Affecting sleep.
Have you tried white noise machines to help you sleep at night? It mimics the sound of a jet engine which helps me drift off.

I have had something similar to you. I found that there is something going on in my eustacian tube behind the eardrum. It improves when I avoid coffee, and use steroid spray up my nasal cavity. Also, using benydryl at night for a few days helps a lot. I have a theory that an acid build up in my stomach is irritating my throat and ear canals and produces an inflammatory response behind the eardrum. I find my ears get itchy also and if I avoid certain foods and caffeine it gets better. Also, try a few days of antacids.
That's an interesting theory throat irritation being the cause of tinnitus.

Yes, I'm using it. I've found I've needed to increase the volume as it progressed.
