Based on a book I read by physicist Michio Kaku called Hyperspace, you are correct. He postulated on a time travel machine but that it would require enormous amounts of energy.
True. Setting as course around the sun at a warp speed causes a sling-shot acceleration which due to the speed and mass of the sun exhibits a jump in the dense time/space continuum allowing you to surf this wave backwards toward earth in backward time as indicated by the Chekov chronometer. Decelerating allows the wave to break over the ship and time to progress forward. I wouldn't have believed this possible if I hadn't seen it on TV.
Actually according recent experiments I personally conducted into time travel (shared for the first time here!), I have proved that time moves faster when the person is moving slower. I had to select a spot that guaranteed no movement to conduct my time travel. I found a suitable time travel machine in my bedroom and slid into the position. Without moving and in the blink of an eye I had moved into the future 10 hours such that I was now late for work. Sadly I'm not sure how to use the same device to travel back and pick up my phone from the VIP
I do not believe that time travel as we see it on sci fi TV shows is possible. If it were there would be time travelers traveling back into the past and forward into the future. If they were to alter history in any way we would be living in a constant state of change.
If you believe in God, then you must believe that he has everything figured out in a master plan and would not allow life that he created to exist in a state of chaos.

I also have a problem with the time travel machine (almost looks like a Star Gate machine) or technology.
1. They invented this before controlled nuclear fusion? Seems like time travel is the more advanced invention to me. Or are the oil companies conspiring not to permit fusion as our prime energy source?
2. How can they send someone back to a specific point in time in the past at a specific location or spot?
Just sounds like bullshit to me. They should do a background check on that kid (adult now).
There are more things under heaven ( mythical place ) and above earth than we know of. Alternate dimensions and realities are a possibility, not that anyone has any proof that they do exist but I say it is possible. We do know there is randomness in many things and as far a chaos goes, it all depends on how you define chaos.
As for what God has planned for us, it is for him to know.
