I even have the monkeypox vaccine. I mean I know it mainly affected men but like you said, it is a vaccine so what is the harm. That is my opinion as well. I have the Hep B vaccine too. I will take whatever I can to ensure safety.

I know the anti-vaxxers will take issue with this but I feel better having them.
Have got the new Shingles vaccine? I got the first generation when I was under the age recommendations and the newer one a year or three ago. I know a couple people who developed shingles in their 50's and 60's... said it was suicidally painful.

I got that also a little over 25 years ago. Not sure if I need a booster.
An MD can order a Hep A & B immunity test. I had the Hep A and B vaccines back when they were separate. My Doc knows I have always been proactive regarding myhealth so one year suggested the immunity test when I asked him for the full panel of STD and post-vasectomy tests when I started dating a girl a few years back and we wanted to enjoy ourselves without the bedroom smelling like the burnout pad at the Cayuga Dragstrip!

Anyways, turns out I was no longer immune to Hep A. So got one shot of the Hep A vaccine, then a Twinrix a few months later.

Worth checking.

Cool!
Looks like it's recommended for people over 50 now.

I know a few people in their 40s that already got it. In both cases they were going through a stressful time.

  • How HPV spreads:
HPV is primarily transmitted through skin-to-skin contact, particularly in the genital area, but also through other areas like the mouth and throat.

  • Skin-to-skin contact:
This can include vaginal, anal, or oral sex, but also any skin-to-skin contact with someone who has HPV, even if it's not sexual.

    • Examples of non-sexual transmission:
You could potentially get HPV from sharing towels, touching contaminated surfaces, or even from someone with warts on their hands touching their genitals and then touching you.
    • HPV and virgins:
Studies have shown that HPV can be detected in individuals who have never had sexual intercourse, suggesting non-sexual transmission routes.
    • HPV and kissing:
While the evidence is not conclusive, some studies suggest that open-mouth kissing may be linked to HPV transmission.
    • HPV and fomites:
HPV can survive on surfaces for a short time, so sharing items like towels or razors with someone who has HPV could potentially lead to infection.
    • HPV and tattoos:
Tattoos have been found to carry HPV infection, and these infections have generally been warts on the areas tattooed
    • HPV and symptoms:
Many people with HPV don't experience any symptoms, making it easy to unknowingly spread the virus.
    • HPV and prevention:
The best way to prevent HPV is to get vaccinated, practice safe sex, and get regular screenings.

As you all know, or probably should know, our activities invariably lead to HPV infection. Indeed, almost everyone gets an HPV infection sometime in their life. The exceptions are those who have had the HPV vaccine, and those in long-term strictly monogamous relationships. Condoms do not fully protect against HPV, and genital-to-genital contact (as in some body slides) can easily lead to an HPV infection. HPV typically clears out of the body in a year or two.

HPV is often symptomless, but certain strains of HPV lead to cancers, most commonly cervical cancer – but other cancers as well. It has always been unfair to our wives to put them at risk. Until now, the standard of care was the pap smear to catch changes to cells before they become cancerous.

Here’s what you may not know: Since March 3, Ontario switched to screening with HPV tests instead of Pap smears. If you are in a long-term relationship, your wife will be periodically tested for HPV. A positive result is almost always due to one spouse cheating.

I just dodged a bullet. I cannot imagine what I would have said if the result was positive.

I am gone from this hobby permanently.
so I presume first and last message from this 16 year old account

You should still be getting the vaccine as should your wife. If you’re under 54 they still give it. Anyone in the hobby should be getting the updated three doses. gardasil 9. Women get cancer and become infertile more than the men suffer the consequences

You need to repeat some of the vaccines ever decade the doctor told me Due to losing immunity and also updated strains protection

HPV sounds so much more 'inclusive' than the old name, genital warts.
Because it isn’t always warts. There’s also abnormal cells that aren’t warts but have other abnormalities and symptoms or lack thereof. there are different strains which have different effects. The vaccine only covers 9 of the dozens
clearly you aren’t getting screened or you would know

I have the Hep A and B TWINRIX vaccine as well, but that is mainly because I travel and best to have it especially because I travel to Asia.
Health Canada has a section that lists all the vaccines you need for each country. Or recommended such as for mosquito born viruses or water or food etc

It was hard for me to get the doctor to give me the monkeypox one. It took three clinics to finally get it. They felt that since I was engaging in sex with men that I couldn’t possibly need it which was strange. I don’t know if it costs them a lot to administer to people and that’s why they hesitated.

I just referred an older escort to the free health clinic here in Durham. She is almost 50 and she was accepted for it. She has to pay and apparently it is only 2 shots instead of the 3 that I got. But she told me they said they just recently changed the dosage????
That’s strange. My girlfriend just got her third. And she’s in her 40s. You should urge her to get the third. They might not understand why she wants and needs it. They used to only do two doses when first came out. Now it’s three for 9

I think I also remembered that he smoked for a long time, which is a huge risk for oral cancer.

I know he blamed it on going down on his wife, which I found tacky, but I think some medical commentators mentioned smoking.

I am also skeptical that his wife was the only chick he ever ate out. The virus of course not only rarely causes cancer, but it lives in the body for decades.

Personally, I got the shot, but one of the reasons it was first marketed to young teen girls, and then teen guys, was that many said it was useless if you are older unless you are The 40 Year Old Virgin.

Now it is marketed to everyone, but that may be partially for profit maximization.
It’s not for profit reasons it’s because it’s everyone’s responsibility and it was solely put onto women to protect
Their health without considering the bigger picture of relationship dynamics since pharmaceutical industry still lacks respect for women’s bodies and health being run by men
men also generally lack the intelligence to get screened and get help for their health so getting men to get tested was harder never mind implementing a regime for treatment
prevention is easier than treatment

I agree that it’s incredibly tacky he publicly shamed her and blamed her for his oral cancer. It’s all people bring up regarding their two names in the last decade
