Tim Walz, like so many politicians, places himself forward as an exemplary citizen and then is proven to be no better, and perhaps worse, than the average Joe.
Actually, he is placed forward mostly as an average Joe.
Which is good, actually.
Politicians shouldn't be on a pedestal.
This might be a significant problem if VPs EVER had a significant impact on a Presidential election. They don't.
Sarah Palin has entered the chat.
Comparing VPs is like a joust between the pages of two knights. Who cares who wins that battle?
Voters.
The VP does little to add to the ticket usually.
It
can fuck up your ticket.
But in most cases, I agree, it is a thing on the margins. Given the current state of the electorate and the electoral map, that matters.
The fact the GOP is going after Walz so hard shows you they are worried about him.
All that really matters is how effective a fundraiser a VP is. I suspect JD Vance wins in that contest.
He does seem to be put in there as a conduit for the big money vultures like Thiel and other tech bros, yes.
Walz seems to be stimulating far more small-dollar donations.
