Well deserved. His OPS+ was just a shade behind R Henderson. Hope he goes in as an Expo.

Pudge Rodiguez was obvious and Bagwell also got in. Jeff Bagwell was one of my favorite players early in his career. But then showed up one year totally bulked up on steroids and started hammering HR's during the steroid era. He escaped scrutiny but the rumours were there. If Piazza and Bagwell are in, then Clemons and Bonds should be in the HOF.

I see a comparison between the Rock and Super Mario. Both were amazing but both overshadowed. One by the greatest base stealer and leadoff man ever (Ricky) and one by the best of all time (maybe Orr slightly ahead of 99).
Can partially agree. IMO, the differences are ClemEns (not Pinball) and Bonds were much more obvious as PEDers plus both were extremely loathsome personalities (throwing a broken bat at a baserunner), especially to the people who are currently voters. "That's a STUPID question!".
I'd be elated if they never got in but when they are both at around 50% right now I| think it is inevitable.

He played in remote Canada. Very little exposure to the U.S. viewers prior to the exhaustive TV coverage we get now.
Plus his rep was a bit tainted by the coke thing.
It's good to see that he's getting the recognition he deserves. If the coke thing can affect admission to the HoF, then guys like Bonds should never grace its hallowed halls.
