The Chinese government said that the blast was equivalent ot 20 tonnes of TNT. If it was military ordnance, it would never have been stored in a civilian port with no soldiers guarding it. What more do you want, except to indulge in conspiracy theories?

China has a problem with corruption, and has always had that problem going back a thousand years. City planning and zoning officials probably looked the other way and approved the building of residential appartment buildings too close to the port, and/or port officials approved a dangerous goods facility too close to residential areas. In either case, their punishment will be quick and severe, as is normally the case in this one-party state. All dangerous goods facilities are now on notice throughout China. Social media in China is running wild and the government is looking at retribution to calm public anger.
Not to those who just lost their ONE CHILD it isn't, the many circulating pictures of crying people holding up pictures of their firefighter sons in uniform are one of the most damaging things the regime had faced in YEARS. This is why the central government is looking for heads to roll, heads MUST roll.
