immense prolonged suffering due to “long Covid “
I'm terrified of death from any cause but long covid scares the absolute shit out of me.

As they used to say in D&D and other related games. Fates worse than death.

Thanks for all that but I didn’t ask you. I asked him.

And you still didn’t answer here. If not for the pandemic, why else are people getting vaccinated?
I answered you just seem to like asking me to repeat it
FEAR (I emphasized it in original post)

If you have a less than 1% chance of dying (less than 80 years old) wtf are people panicking?

Long Covid seems to be associated with neurological and psychological damage which appears to be permanent in about a third of the victims as some of them have not improved in the 6-12 months that they have been in recovery. Lung damage and other organ damage are common including significant erectile dysfunction and loss of libido . Damage with the Indian double mutation variant is said to be somewhat worse and it is associated with a debilitating “black fungus” with a 50% mortality rate in India.
When the covidiots quote statistics about death rates due to this pandemic they conveniently omit the “Long Covid” comorbidity for some reason.

It is unknown whether the current vaccines are effective against the India variant so far but we can only hope.

It is not up to you to decide for people if they want to be cautious or concerned about something. Even in your attempted reasoning, the “fear” you speak of, which I wouldn’t call it that, but it stems from the pandemic and not wanting to get sick. Who cares if you think people are over-reacting, it Is still from the pandemic, so that is why I am asking, not you, what else is it besides the pandemic.

According to ON stats (linked above)
Worst case scenario you have (about) a 1 in 40 chance of being infected with Covid
Once infected you have (worst case assuming you are older) a 3 in 1000 chance of dying from that Covid infection

The odds are low

It would be the same nonsense as if I told you "don't get vaccinated because the side effects.... "

I just find it funny people are terrified of Covid (despite a very low chance of ever catching it) are totally cool with vaccines (which again have a very low chance of having issues with it)

It's the same issue just from a different viewpoint

Just curious. If you say it is not for the pandemic, then what is it for?
I thought it was mind control?
Is the microchip thing still happening?

Because killing off more than 1% of the population is looked down on by most people.

No it isn't, but we have already established you are have trouble with reading stats and math.

Now you sound like you trying to quote squeezer

Yes your odds of dying to Covid are ridiculously low and nearly as low as dying of the vaccine

Post your age we can calculate what your exact chances are but I suspect they will be within a 10% variance

I don't know about anyone else but when they start talking about DNA and mutagens sign me up.
I've seen enough Spiderman and X-men to know how well that ends.

Sure we did get any superpowers from Chernobyl but I have hopes this time.

No, Valcazar is very diplomatic, I much prefer to let you know I believe in my opinion you are a delusional misinformed twat without actually saying it.

In YOUR opinion. Not everyone shares your opinion.

And again, you call it being terrified, others call it being cautious.

Poppycock!

For example, a 80 year old has a relatively high risk of death from covid, but a relatively low risk of death from vaccination. The difference is huge. HUGE! Like 100 or 1000 or 10,000 times more risk from covid.

I think Tee Jay's argument is "all old people are basically dead anyway so we shouldn't include them in the math".

It may also be "you - as a younger person - have a different risk calculation. Since no one in a society should ever think about anything but themselves, the individual risk is the only thing that you should worry about and therefore increasing everyone else's risk is fine."

This is, of course, assuming any of his math about the risk calculations are correct, which remains dubious.

You also have an extremely higher chance of dying on the trip to the vaccination site than getting the vaccine via a car accident, zombies, Justin Beiber, whatever.

Much like how I have a much bigger chance of getting mugged in my small home town than in NYC... I've never been to NYC.

In other news, nearly 100,000 Ontario long-term care home residents have received the vaccine, not contracted COVID-19 and are still alive.

First, that's absolutely NOT TRUE. Very very few people die from vaccines (apart from those from AZ vaccines) , definitely not the 50 deaths per day in Canada from Covid.

Also, it is not just dying from Covid.
Many did not die but suffered a lot during their spells with Covid.

Those who were in ICU but survived could have permanent lung damage, getting short of breath with minimal activities. Some have permanent kidney damage requiring dialysis, while others had stroke and blood clots (yes, much higher chance than from AZ vaccines).
And I have seen many young people who had persistent fatique and continued to cough their lungs out weeks after Covid.

No one wants that, and it can be easily be prevented by the vaccine.

Sometimes I get the urge to argue with an anti vaxxer. I go and find a nice brick wall and start there. It's usually more productive and less annoying.
Thankfully I live in a brick home so there is that.
