Not that uncommon.
I still remember an incident in Montreal when someone threw a large rock (brick?) off an overpass. It hit a car being driven by a young man. Father said he was a great Joe Namath fan and was driving a GTO.
Of course there is always the risk of flying wheels, wild animals, other drivers, etc. It's a jungle out there.

I would add also ... or the death penalty if it exist in this State..
It seems to be a thing. I remember a decade ago or so a woman was driving down the I 5 somewhere near Bellingham and someone dropped a paving stone off an overpass walkway through her windshield. She was blinded, but survived, unfortunately. What were they thinking?
Man pretty soon we'd have to be driving armoured cars to get away from these lowlife scum. This sort of shit only happens here. I have never heard these kinds of things happen even in third world countries. WTF.

I know younger teens and kids would do this but at 18 - you know better. These are little fucking punks and I hope they rot in jail for life.
Apparently, the three went back to take pictures of the crime scene to take a souvenir photo.
