[mod edit] This is actually NOT a twitter communication. The gentleman contacted her thru the Scarlet Blue website's own communication/booking method. Check the layout of your twitter dm screen and you will notice it is different.

I saw this twitter response from an escort who claimed that this was a very appropriate response to her admirer wasting her time. I feel that she was very out of tact here.
I am not sure why she even responded to this message - I would have just deleted as a spam yet she chose to make a drama out of it.
What annoys me the most of her colleagues are actually defending her - doesn't she realize that she is literally ruining her reputation by showing this on her twitter account?

P.S. If I ever hire a lady from Melbourne I will make sure screen really well and not to get an entitled diva like this.

She is right in the point she is making. Could she have done it better? Sure. Should she have seen and understood he was not pressing the issue and accepting her points and therefore accept his apology? Yes

The problem is, women get this over and over and over and over. Can you imagine waiting for your phone to ring so you can make money to put food on the table and all you get is compliments? It gets annoying after a while and sometimes you can only take so much before you have to speak up and this guy seems to have gotten the brunt of it.

She is right, it does not pay her bills. However, it is apart of the business and if she wanted to, she probably could have spend 5 mins and maybe turned it into a booking.

Being in the business of service outside of this industry, I know what it is like to have to spend extra time to get that contract. Escorting is really no different in marketing and gaining clientele and keeping clientele. Some get it, some don't and some don't care. That is their right and your right to screen against these types of women you feel are divas.

I personally would have responded differently but I agree with there points. Compliments don't pay the bills and this is a business, not a hook up/chat type thing. It needs to be addressed as such.

I have no issue with her response. Her first response was direct to the point and her second response as well. Could it have been said in a better way. Yes. But until you have been in her shoes, communication like this can go on forever and she elected to deal with it in her own very direct way. And she posted it for all to see so I don’t think she is overly concerned with the reactions she was going to receive.

Personally, my first text to someone I would like to see is straight to the point. Provide any info that she requires in the opening text. Respecting one’s time and business seems lost these days. I have heard from a few indies numerous times where “potential” clients go on and on sending useless texts. The only time it stops is when they are blocked.

She was more than respectful.

Yes, she could have deleted it as spam, but she chose to use this to educate not only him but others as well. Like she pointed out, she did not get paid for that interaction, however she did pay through the nose for the ad and photos that person saw. There was no return on her investment, and she had to be polite just in case it WAS a paying client on the other end. She is giving examples to other potential clients so they will know not to waste anyone's time in future.

It's laughable that her response could be considered rude in any way.

As sex workers, we KNOW we are attractive. It is essential to our business. Telling us something we already know does not do anything for us. It only benefits you.

IMO why even DM her for a compliment. These ladies post everyday to look as hot as possible to get clients. If you want to compliment someone, DM instagram models. Although It would've saved her time if she just not reply at all.

I think I'd avoid such a woman. Nothing wrong with her first response, second could have been, "sorry I'm running a business and i only have time for bookings. Thank you." I totally get why she'd be upset, as ladies have told me the time wasters they gotta manage are legion - but she spiked the football in his face. Thus the dose of humiliation went a bit far. Who knows, he likely deserved it. But it tells other potential clients that humiliation is in her repertoire. Last thing ya want in a pro lady (well...maybe not blokes do pay for that at times too lol). As an Aussie, I'll say that response was a bit on the nose even by our standards.

She was a little hard and he backed off and apologized right away. If you're not experienced on Twitter, it's easy to make that mistake as a guy.

About 2 or 3 years ago, an American indy was visiting Eastern Canada for a vacation, not to work. Up to that time, I had only interacted with my regular escorts and their friends on Twitter and everybody knew each other and were cool with chatting with me. So I thought that was the norm.

So I dm-ed the US girl and wrote her a full list of stuff to see when she came to TO. I even thought of asking her out for coffee, but I had too much work that day. Not interested in banging her at all and certainly not interested in paying for her time. I just thought I was being polite and a good host. She thanked me. A few weeks later, I picked up some politics comments she made on Twitter and DM-ed her to chat about politics. AFAIK, she was my "new buddy". I got told I was a time-waster and kicked out of her DM's.

So it was a learning experience. Point being that some guys don't really get how Twitter works. (And of course, some other, different guys are just hard-core pests and sniffers and will keep pushing until they get blocked.)

It's weird to send a compliment without booking but she could have handled this in a better way. I'm pretty sure this man didn't mean to be rude or annoying.
I ignore a lot of messages that don't seem serious, many times the person was serious and sent a second message with more precise information without me having to ask them.

The other issue is this:

I get that women get frustrated w guys who communicate and yet refrain from booking them. Fine.

But isn't the answer to get an assistant to handle screening and booking?? If dudes have no direct access to "chat" with a pretty girl that ends the stream of chat and compliments. Agencies don't have the unwanted chatter issue because there's no pay-off to the caller in getting chat-time with a hot girl.

Several women can share the cost of 1 assistant. Or the assistant can be purely "fictional" - i.e. the girl herself telling everyone she's the assistant and screening. The point is to eliminate the direct contact until after a booking is made and a paying, genuine client-escort relationship is established.

Clearly she is wound way too tight. When he said it was a "Compliment at this stage", the text ending response would have been "Thx" and leave it at that. Yet she wanted to start a sparring match. It takes two to tango. Obviously she wanted a dance.

LOL Y'all don't get it. Your compliments mean nothing if they do not come along with a solid booking or something that ACTUALLY benefits us.

Contrary to popular opinion, we do not need to be nice or even appreciative when offered a useless tidbit like "You're hot". You may think compliments are something we are supposed to like, but really, all you're saying is "I care more about what I think about you than what you actually want or need as a person"

She wasn't at ALL respectful. I run a business that regularly gets people stopping in just to get directions, or to say hi because so and so mentioned us, or simply out of curiosity. I'd never dream of talking to them in this manner.

Doesn't mean she doesn't have a point. It's incredibly frustrating to be busy and have people with time on their hands try to chat you up during work hours. But just because the guy was an ignorant time waster doesn't excuse her rudeness. I don't understand that entitlement...? I mean, how can you see entitlement in one side and not the other? The guy was an idiot, but his communication was at least courteous. Can't say the same for her.

You catch more flies with honey than you do with a stick. There was a way to handle this professionally and this wasn't it. She could have with a little effort turned that compliment into possibly money. "Hey thanks for the compliment, but this number I use just for bookings. If you would like to chat, I have an Onlyfans page where we can exchange messages. Here's the link if you're interested: xxxxxxxx. I hope to see you on Onlyfans later. Talk to you soon." See how much more effective that is. Gets the point across with no fuss. Post a screenshot of that on your Twitter and the majority of guys will get the message. Instead all she did was vent publicly on a page about her work. If you feel the need to vent, do it on anonymous Twitter page. Keep your work profile professional.

If you guys click on the Twitter link, the reactions to the post are splitting 50:50 along gender lines.

No one is saying he's in the right. He definitely is not. It's just when you take an attitude like that it chases off some segment of real clients. And I'm saying this as a real client lol. In my 5 or so year career doing this twice I've wanted to book a lady but after reading her grind a bloke down like this I never booked her (nor reached out to her. I saw her posted proud humiliation of a bloke like this whilst I was doing my homework on her before reaching out for the first contact, thus moved her to the "never" category.) So I'm only saying it could have detrimental affects on her business. In fact if she said "I'd love a visit so please write back only when you want to book" it might have drawn him in. That's how you run a personal services business.

But I get the frustration on her part she probably wanted to respond more fiercely lol.

Was about to suggest the same and that she simply keep a .txt file of the response that she can simply copy and paste onto every unwanted conversation.

Some girls have a sticky on top of their Twitter page that says "DM's for bookings only" and that should help as well.

Not quite as involved as your tale mandrill but I had a similar thing happen, on a Twitter thread w maybe 3-4 people, lady said she was going to NYC and wondered about a good place to eat so given I lived there I dm'ed her 5 rec's and a caution. She responded nicely, then i mentioned another recommendation up town, then she went on a rant about a client who just cancelled on her and then clients in general then she went after me for writing her and not booking and wasting her time. Needless to say she moved off the visit list.

"PAY ME
PAY ME
PAY ME
PAY ME"

Seems to be the common mantra among far too many sex workers, giving the good ones a bad name.
That's not how "real business" is ever done. The whole point is to provide value to customers and then cash in your efforts. Pro tip, most people don't like to part ways with their hard earned money for no reason.

I can understand all the frustration from time wasters, but there is no need to tell every potential client off.
Some people enjoy some friendly conversation before dropping big bucks to get a feel for what is to come - within reason.
If it were a rude inquiry, it would be more than acceptable to give it right back, but this is just not the case.
There is no need to engage or even respond, especially passively aggressive to a compliment.
What customer wants to be belittled before dropping a few hundred dollars? (with maybe the exception of weird fetishes like findom and such)
It might as well have been an outburst from having bad day, but it really can do damage as others have mentioned with regards to the business.
The illusion of a good gfe quickly comes to an end, way before it begins.
