I can't stand OF because I hate subscribing to stuff. Not to mention, places like onlyfans seems to be mostly POV stuff which I find totally boring and is why I can't stand most amateur porn. Also, your subscribing to something blindly as you don't know what your going to get on OF. Like it's up to the performer how much or little content she wants to provide, and what type of content.

It blows me away that any guys at all subscribe to OF.

I know that some accounts are free to subscribe, but all the content is pay-walled. Their are other accounts that have a monthly fee just to get access to the account and most of the content is pay-walled. So you have no idea what you're actually paying for.

This basically makes OF a slot machine designed to empty your wallet.

My take is OF was a way sex workers (from porn stars/internet models) to SPs could profit off of their looks/talents in a fairly safe an anonymous way. I've never subscribed, but I have seen many sites that have leaked videos and images from OF, so there are obvious holes in the security. Then there is the whole thing about how much someone makes on it. From what I can tell, if you're in the top 1%, you probably make a LOT of cash every month. I don't know what percentage OF takes from the subscriptions, though I imagine it is probably 30% (which is what Apple apparently collects from all sales in the App store), but who knows. So, considering the million OF accounts, there are a huge number that make next to nothing....In many ways, it's a pipe dream for most performers to make a serious living doing it. It's like becoming a YouTube Influencer. Sure, there are people who are able to break out and parlay that into big money doing sponsored shit and getting millions of views. But there are a huge number of channels that have a handful of subscribers and maybe a hundred views.

Bottomline, if you're interested in that type of content, you can probably find it online fairly easily (though I hear many of the models can be very proactive with copyright takedown notices). But, considering there is so much free content where ever you look, why bother? Unless you had a very specific fetish, or just couldn't live without seeing a specific model, it really doesn't make a lot of sense to me.

A lot of it is gals teasing way more than they're actually offering, which leads to an intensely disappointing experience. Even when they do offer the promised content, it's often poorly filmed.

I'll only ever sign up now if it's for a provider I'm interested in seeing, and therefore it's part of my research. Or if it's a provider I've seen and really dig, because then it offers a little bit extra excitement just from that fact.
From a purely visual porn perspective though, it's the worst value out there.

Paying a monthly fee to be fed ads to buy content from the people you pay the subscription fee to is nonsense. The occasional PPV I get when it's something special, but far too many it's all PPV with a subscription to get access to be able to buy PPV. Definitely worst value out there.

It's not my thing. I tried it and it was a waste of money. Paying for 1 post a month at best. I did it during Covid and would not do it again.

The video shop (eg blockbuster) had regular videotapes throughout, but one room, often behind a curtain, with a sign saying something like "adults only" or "must be 18". That led to a smaller room where the porn videos were displayed on racks. No jerking off lol. It was find your preferred tapes...peek out to make sure no one was in the shop or there wasn't someone who might recognise you - and quickly cash out and scoot out to the car.
