Considering how crap the administration of other government digital systems are, guaranteed all your information will get leaked to hackers within 5 years.

I’m sorry…. When did the Federal Government start using slaynews.com to make policy announcements?

Is there a link to an actually government announcement? Or this this a “gotcha” picture underneath a “gotcha” headline?

My bullshit detector is going off hard on this one.

What you actually think the government is going to formally announce this. They will attempt to implement it through other means i.e. in through the backdoor.

Well, as long as it was on the internet. Must be true.

And that's exactly why we're in the mess we're in, "Omg, it's not on cnn, cbc, citytv, msnbc, fox so it can't be real news. My (amazing) bullshit detector is going off like crazy"
You are clueless and naive.

Maybe it's time to wake up about corporate owned new$ outlet$ and I highly recommend you recalibrate your "bullshit" detector.

Nobody said CNN or CBC. Lol.

And we’re in the mess we’re in for several reasons. Yes… multi millionaire’s owning and controlling the media… bad. But, some guy in his basement with a channel scouring the net and offering up his conclusions is not really journalism. I will take the NY Times over Ben Shapiro all day.

And again…. Cluelessness and being naive is when you you take opinion for fact. All you offered was opinion.

I will take a look at the policies later today. We’ll see if they match the hysteria.

So… this scares you?

“Under the leadership of the Chief Information Officer of Canada, guided by the government priorities outlined in my mandate letter, the GC's Digital Ambition provides a clear, long-term strategic vision for the Government of Canada to advance digital service delivery, cyber security, talent recruitment, and privacy.“

Or does this?

“Digital Ambition statement

To enable delivery of government in the digital age for all Canadians. This will be done by providing modernized and accessible tools to support service delivery that expresses the best of Canada in the digital space.”

Thank you for implying I am the problem. However… I believe the problem is, you have not read, or even opened the policy. You simply watched a video and shared. You don’t really have a clue what the policy is, why it was implemented, or what it does.

News flash! We are in the digital age. Have been for a while. Being a first world country means the government has used the internet a while now, and already has your information.

Having a strategy on delivering services efficiently is probably a good thing.

However…. Let’s be balanced. What do you think the government should be doing?

Not CNN/CBC, but other mainstream outlets are good right? lol
I'm not offering up my conclusions, but the conclusions and statements that others are stating.
It's not opinion, it's fact.
The government of Canada, is going with digital I.D. and that is a slippery slope.

As for my opinion, if you're so naive that you can't see the implications of all this, well that's not my problem. lol

Did you bitch about Nexus?

Did you know anybody, you, your cousin, any convicted terrorist, can simply buy a new passport and identity in Cypress, and if you were previously on the "no fly list", well, you are now now Joe Smith, or Matthew Goodson. Or Vinny Bobarino.

Its worth the 12 min watch.

And you must have some thoughts of your own. Do tell.

Nexus is voluntary, don't care, I crossed the border just fine without it.

This digital I.D. is going to be a game changer and it's not optional, big difference, that is if you cannot think about why they're trying to push this through so fast.

yes
not optional, but mandatory
at the request of an unelected organization who is determined to implement its agenda / vision of the future

It is prudent to view attempts by govt to grab greater power/ control with skepticism.
Once acquired govt does not give power/ control up

The growing issues surrounding digital identity have been known and discussed for quite some time.

The KTDI thing looks pretty shitty.
They are even touting it as a "blockchain" thing, which makes it even more suspicious.
