This story concerns a young woman who was murdered in Quebec by a cock-sucking-piece-of-shit who, HAD ALREADY murdered a SW previously and was in jail for it, and was out on a day pass.

I am genuinely beyond outraged over this and am going to write my MP. This woman should be alive. Because you are a SW does not mean you are restricted from the protection of the law however, under the guise of 'human trafficking' law enforcement continues to put SW in lethal situations like this.

Listen, I'm no angel, I've not always been the best client, cancelled at the last minute. Dumb things. And I'm sorry for it. But THIS..this is so fucking wrong...if you are a client of a SW, you HAVE to stand up for them. Write your MP.

Would decriminalizing sex work really stop this guy from murdering someone? He killed a girl in a hotel. What about this situation would change if sex work was decriminalized? A life sentence would have been a far better solution for this guy.

The environment would be completely different. SWs would not be seen as easy targets as they are now by being forced to operate under the radar. Would the occasional whack job kill a girl now and then? Probably. But guys often kill their wives and girlfriends now too and we don't make marriage or dating illegal.

The real point is that it's none of the government's business who people have sex with or why. There is no reason for paid-for sex to be illegal except for the undue influence of legacy religious systems that not many actually believe in anymore anyway. Lots of people have sex for reasons a lot less noble than being paid and we don't outlaw that either, although I guess if you include anti-gay laws you could argue that we've tried. And how well did that work?

This is so wrong and disheartening. The guy had killed his Partner before and was still allowed to see a SW. Was a psychiatric evaluation done before he was allowed to do so? Were measures taken so he couldn't harm anyone. This could have been prevented.

Decriminalizing would reduce the stigma around SW. Decriminalization would allow more ladies to work from a single location, hire security, seek legal help, screen better, rent places without issues and legitimize the good work they do for society.

They are not expendables but human beings who deserve respect, protection and rights as everyone else.

I would love they make it mandatory to be tested and get a license in order to work as well .. It would eliminate a lot of health risks ..
I would definitely open an agency where the girls can feel safe and respected.
It would be better for clients and providers to make it legal.

First, I read that she new is pass from the "Massage club" she was also working from as a MA.
It says she saw him many times before seeing him in an hotel.

So it would not have saved her. For some reasons, she took the risque.

Last, he's first kill wasn't an SW but his own wife that he killed using knife and hammer.
So in my book, this guy is violent and probably hate women.

Finally, they say our great Trudeau gouvernement decided to not renew most of experience peoples that decides if those guys can go out or not.
So you end up with peoples that have no experience and are most likely easier to manipulate.
