You'd better to check to see if your new Yukon has a plastic intake manifold or not.Stoo said:I'm on my second Yukon and they've been great trucks with very few problems. The mileage in the city sucks, but it's not bad on the highway at all... I often get 20 mpg on the secondary highways. It tows well (I pull a 4500# boat) and is very stable.
I tested an Expedition before I bought my second Yukon. I think it was larger inside, especially in the back seat, but it seemed to be less well built. Ultimately, I chose another Yukon because the first one had been such a good vehicle. I had almost 300,000 km over 5 years on it before it started to give me grief.
The Excursion dwarfs my Yukon. You might consider a Yukon or Expedition with a Thule box on the roof for the occassional time you need more room...
If it does, get ready to buy a new engine at about 120,000 km.
Your old Yukon was built with a metal engine. GM has since figured a way to build temporary plastic engines.
Good luck
