It burned up over the pacific, Toronto will survive LOL

China's Tiangong-1 space lab re-entered the Earth's atmosphere around 8.15 a.m. Monday (8:15 p.m. ET Sunday) in a fiery fall, China's Manned Space Agency said.

Tiangong-1 plummeted into the middle of the South Pacific, the space agency said.
"Most parts were burned up in the re-entry process," the agency said.

CNN? That’s all fake news I’m told.

Probably just a leftist plot to get me out of my truth bunker.

Can’t fool me!

So it changed from "Alert! Chinese space debris may crash into well known cities" to "Hey everyone, turns out the Chinese space debris disintegrated over the Pacific ocean"

A+ to the PR team getting ratings.

This is an old story, spanning several years.

I forget, it is more than 2 years old, maybe 5 years old.

It started with geeks noticing that this space station was behaving erratically, even though at the time, it was already decommissioned.

So the speculation started online years ago about the Chinese losing control of the space station. Of course, the Chinese stayed mum about it, saying nothing.

Time goes by. Eventually, all the geeks concluded it was out of control, but no confirmation from the Chinese.

More time goes by.

Then the Chinese confirm they did indeed lose contact with that space station. All the geeks got excited. That was like 2 years ago I think.

Normally stories that excite the geeks, no one else is interested. This is like the 500 uncontrolled entity of a space vehicle, does not happen often, therefore it is understandable why the geeks get excited. For some reason, this story caught the imagination of the general public.

Finally the thing crashed into earth.

Personally speaking, I am really disappointed. It should have crashed into some of the people in this thread. The Chinese got to do better next time. No more silly computer hacks, but a targeted descent up people's asses.

That would be so cool!
