Okay so I'm just getting the hang of the game and people are taking the time helping me get my headset mic set up for no reason.

Another dude takes me on a run and completes a quest for me that was too tough for me to handle.... I just stood behind him and grabbed all the stuff (he didn't want any of it)

Another guy goes to the auction house buys a whole ton of stuff and hands over 2 weapons, 5 pieces of armour.

Hopefully I'll get to a point where I can pay it forward.

WOW seems like a good community, the higher-level players often take time to help new players. Unlike some other multi-player online games where new players get taken advantage of.

You should try to do quests that are green ( quest that are 3 levels or lower than your current level).

Its good to see that there are some hobbyists that play WOW too.

I had a feeling red, yellow and green indicated level of difficulty. Thanks for the tip!

I've been thinking of getting into WOW - just have not been able to decide on a character. It's nice to hear that there will be help when I do.

I've been playing this game called LIFE. Its kind of tricky and the higher-level challenges are taking a while to solve and master.

Other multi-players of this game don't seem to helpful though and I get taken advantage of, many times.

WoW has moderators who tend to get rid of the disruptive and more annoying players.

But every once in a while you'll run into a player who will piss you off. More often than not, it's a young player acting immature.

One thing you'll probably run into is people killing you and then "camping" your remains so you're forced to either resurrect at an angel or log off and come back later.

Still, WoW is a great game.

I'm surprised how many people are admitting to playing this game. And I thought gaming was a bad, anti-productive habit, like sex..

I did hear alot of people lost jobs over it. Like hardcore addictive stuff. (One reason I haven't dared to indulge in it yet.) Like it eats at your productivity and punctuality and other life responsibilities.

Insert another quarter please.

LOL Terminator. I'm by no means suggesting we all hide out in vid games. Just pleasantly surprised. I pretty much kept to myself assuming other people would be dicks but for the most part people were helpful.

Clearly the game is not for you but there are millions out there who enjoy it. Popularity obviously doesn't mean it's good, worthy or whatever but bottomline is that it's fun.

Besides in addition to work I've taken a class and done some volunteer work (in the last little while) so I certainly don't feel like I'm not getting things done in other parts of my life.

While kinda getting off topic, I think I agree here. I don't need video games like this in my life. With Terb, and hobbying, i'm already slipping too close to living in a 'fantasy world' as it is. Terbites don't need World of WarCraft, too. It'd be cheaper though.

I find that most of the people who poo-poo WoW are just too old and didn't grow up in the video game age.

I did, but I grew out of it. :D
To each his own though.

So, are there any online games that don't require you to pay a monthly fee? My wife would go ballistic if I got a monthly Visa bill for playing a game.

Runescape is a popular game, and you can play as a non-member. Members get lots of perks, but play as a non-member can still be satisfying.
