If you have not seen this show you have missed out on what I would say is perhaps the best show on TV history. It ran for 5 seasons and did not get the accolades that other shows like the Sopranos got but if you rent or buy it it's worth every cent.

Have to agree, without a doubt. There have naturally been other great TV shows, but I don't think there has ever been one with so many unique characters with so much depth. I remember hearing Barack Obama saying that the "Omar" (gay gangster that rips off drug dealers ) character was the most interesting that he has ever seen on TV. Here are three of my favourtite scenes from the show:The Oracle said:If you have not seen this show you have missed out on what I would say is perhaps the best show on TV history. This one has always been my favorite scene. Glad to see it made the list.Big Michael said:
Homicide:Life on the Street was the best network drama ever I do agree.Captain Fantastic said:Not quite as raw as the Wire (thanks to network TV) but without this show the Wire may never have been made - consider it the network test run / blueprint (same writers and producers; same city and basic stories/characters): Homicide: Life on the Street. Best. Network. Drama. Ever. Especially the early seasons.
Anyone know where I can get the complete series + the TV movie on DVD?

Almost. I challenge any heterosexual man to watch a season of Tell Me You Love Me without questioning your own existence. But my wife liked it, so I guess it is just a matter of taste.Manji said:Almost all the HBO series are excellent....
