Gives us all hope that we can get more down the road. Its always been a ground breaking show..... What did people want everyone to get whacked.......Very cool ending
I thought it was pure David CHase. Sat there waiting for the standard TV shootout..and who's left standing in the mist..didn't happen. The episode played out like all the rest. For Tony it always works out.
Phil not only got shot..but just for justice sake...his head became a mellon.
Aj has a dead end job with the hope of a club and a fancy new BMW. Meadow still can't park a car.
They meet for dinner in a low brow diner. We wait while people come in and we think this is the big finish..but the finish was the song by Journey. "Don't stop believing" It ended the way it began.
Chase is not one to succumb to TV norms meaning thre must be a huge gun battle in the parking lot to have completion.
Tony had Phil taken care of. He made his final peace with Jr, He met his future inlaws, AJ is somewhat back on track, Paulie is well..retiring.
Tony has once again got all the future elements in place. All the things that drove him to Dr. Malfie.
I thought the ending was quite good. It resisted the norm and stuck with Chase's habit of not bending to the tried and true ritual of television.

after the ending where nothing happened I sat stunned ..... but with a smile on my face .......... I wouldn't bet the house on that movie deal but wouldn't bet against it either, if a movie does happen I'm there like yesterday 
Me too, I thought my satelite had switched itself off, which it sometimes does, I was not too happy. I was satisfied with the ending, I liked how they built the tension with the guys coming in, but it was nothing. And I was glad that Phil got his, I never liked him. We'll see if there is a movie or not. Sopranos was a great show.

LOL I was watching peek show (comedy) on google video while that was on and glad I didn't miss a thing!
Still... I would have liked to see the russians come back and smoke Tony b/c the russians... are so bad ass in real life.
