For the poster who criticized the supposed lack of "action" on the series, I think the writers are deliberately focusing on the emotional/mental action to show it affects the hard action. Perfect example is the car crash with Phillie that Tony caused when he was chasing him for his money. He was so intent on getting money that was owed to him, because it was money he wanted to give to Fran, his father's mistress, that he physically drove Phillie into crashing into the bus. It was not just the rip off that motivated the chase, I think, but Tony's attempts to mentally rewrite the past by stepping in and doing the honourable thing for his father's mistress. Of course, it also has a lot to do with his guilt feelings over his father's cheating, but again, that's the mental action dictating the physical action.

Shake :

You are right about the tony/chris connection. But everyone has to remember that if you are selfemployed everyone is a mark. To the Lawyer, Insurance salesman, Car dealer we are all marks. The best hustlers make sure that the mark thinks they are thier friend and has thier best interest at heart. He played that Wings dude like a fine fiddle. The stupid fuck never had a chance as did the sports store guy.

I disagree. Yes he played him, but only by giving him what he already wanted: a card game.
Chris doesn't have to wait until the guy gets out of rehab to collect the rest of his money, but he decided to. Chris could have kept demanding his $1200 per week no matter what. These guys are socio-paths, they've very good at drawing up lines and rules of behavior.

Disagree all you want but Chris is not going to get any thing from an unemployed writer and beating someone every week cost money. You have to pay the dude to beat him and a smashed face is not the best way to go to an interview. If he allows the Wings dude to get right again he has a better chance to collect the rest of the debt. I doubt that Chris is on the hook for the whole loss at the table because he would have gotten a kickback for bringing the ***** in. If the car is shipped out of the country and sold Chris already has 1/2 his debt paid to the house. Best part is Wings dude thinks Chris is still his buddy.

There's always money to be made in some way shape or form. Plus, its a major credability problem if people know Chris let the guy get away still owing him half the money. Afterall, what's to stop the next guy from betting big knowing that Chris will let him go after all his money is gone....

I still think that they're setting up Chris-ta-fur to be a FBI rat. The moving of the dead bodies was a dumb move.

And I'm looking forward to the Johnnie Sachs story coming to a head.

I'm thinking Tony B is next to be killed. Though I guess the idea is to keep us guessing and kill someone who is unexpected.

All i have to say when is all the killing going to happen
You want more killings? There were already two in last nights’ show.

Still if you are disappointed with the number of “whacking” don't worry because after last nights turn of events all hell is going to break loose. As far as I am concerned New York and New Jersey are officially at war.

I agree. I am wondering if anyone remembers him from any other acting he's done. I saw him once on a episode of Third Watch in which he played Maurice's estranged father, but other than that I can't remember seeing him in anything.

Is the first time you have agreed with me? It must be the summer weather getting to you.

This season seems to be stuck in neutral. They've been dragging out this NY/NJ thing. While Christopher will follow tony to hell, Silvio seems smarter than that. I have a hard time believing Silvio isn't taking note of Tony's gradual self-destruction. My favorite Silvio line was after Tony complained Johnny was placing the blame for Peeps on Tony B, Silvio responded, "Right, Johnny should be out looking for the real killers on the golf course!"

I'm thankful for the dream sequence; it'd be kinda hard to bring Annabella Sciorra back without it. It must have been pretty meaningless for viewers unfamiliar with previous seasons, though.

No, Fernie, it's not the summer air. If you continue to post things I agree with, I'll agree with you, but that does't happen very often for obvious reasons.

As for this season being in neutral, my response is hardly! With all the forshadowing and the self-alienation that Tony is causing himself, I think we're headed for an arrest or a hit on the big man as the series climax, sort of like the who shot J.R. on Dallas years ago?

As for Christufer I see him possibly jumping ship with the FBI in the lead pressuring Adrianna and possibly Carmela, as another twist to everything. This season is hardly neutral..............

I am a devout follower of the series (I have first 4 seasons on DVD) and if I Had to describe the last episode in one word... that word would be: WHAT THE FUCK?!

Call me stupid but I have NO CLUE what that dream sequence was supposed to represent! Other than Tony is getting fucked in the head.

On a side note: We never really see Tony B. whack Johnny's henchman....? (I think his name was Pauly or Billy.. but he's always playing a wise guy in almost any gangster film)
