Growing up in the united states in the Boston Area my papa would always take me to the games. My dad would say papa the green monster has defeated many a team son. Having just relocated to Toronto, any special sports venues or pubs to have a cooled one in? What makes Toronto special in that regard?

Absolutely nothing can compare to the atmosphere of Fenway Park or Wrigley Field. Going to a game at Rogers Centre is an embarrassment.

We went because it was a novelty. Guys, re-read the OP's question. He's looking for sports bars, etc. (I assume) around the stadium. He isn't comparing stadiums.

If you've visited the neighbourhood around Fenway and Wrigley, you'd understand.

And when the SkyDome opened, Torontonians couldn't shut up about how this was the greatest stadium ever built.

Avoid Real Stars. Just MLSE gouging the fans of all 3 teams in the area.

Then I suggest you stay away from SkyDome

And yet you were one who directly compared the stadiums. I have been to Fenway ... what a dive, a peewee park at best.
Wrigley ? Yeah, where else can you have your million dollar athletes getting hurt running into a brick wall.

Fenway is a terrible ball park. That wall is a monument to festering turd.
I had to look outside to see if the world was coming to an end ... we agree on something ... does not happen to often.

I do stay away from the SkyDome. I also stay away from the Rogers Centre.

I was also commenting on the OP's posting regarding pubs, etc. in the general vicinity of the Rogers Centre, not the stadiums.

I recommend The Loose Moose and The Queen and the Beaver.

The later isn't near the Skydome (Bay - Elm St) but it's worth the trip.

Here is the thread I started about somthing how I feel in regards to the Rogers Centre and the atmosphere.

https://terb.cc/vbulletin/showthrea...stadium-in-Toronto-in-our-lifetime&highlight=
I did my visit to Camden for a couple of games and you know what? It is a very nice park, but there was no electricity in the atmosphere as some people here argue is what makes the game better than in Skydome.

The place was 1/3 empty (during a pennant race) and the fans were ho hum. The most electricity I`ve witnessed was every time I was part of 50,000 at the dome from late 80`s to mid 90`s. That was exciting, even at a supposedly crap place like the dome. The fans make the game`s atmosphere much more than the park itself.

"Say it ain't so !". There is no way an American park can have equal or less electricity then the ball parks here in Canada.

I like the Loose Moose too. Also try the Pub in the Strathcona Hotel. Stopped in there after an Argos game a few years back. Good wings.

Honest. It was pretty ho hum for the most part. The biggest difference was there was lots of orange instead of blue.
