the Road to the Final Four!!!

Two great finishes back to back with Texas winning at the buzzer after West Virginia has gone ahead seconds before. The Gonzaga-UCLA finish was just unbelievable.

great games last night

I thought the Bruins were down and out after the first half against the Bulldogs -they looked like a bunch of 8 year olds playing ball - but they came back pretty strong.

Memphis looked very good last night - should be a great game between Memphis and UCLA.

Blue Devils choke again!!!! - what else is new!!

LSU and Texas in the elite eight - After watching what LSU did to Duke last night - Texas is going to have their hands full.

my sleeper Team Florida in the elite eight!!!!! way to go Gators. I had them winning by 6 over the Hoyas - they won by 4. Now they face Villanova who has been lucky and squeezed by a couple of times - I have the Gators over the Wildcats.

UCONN pulled it off against the Huskies and now face the cinderella team in this year's tourney George Mason - should be a good game but UCONN should over power GM and advance to the final four.

Props to Florida! But how the hell can you call them a sleeper team? They are seated 3rd and have beaten a 14 seed an 11th seed and a 7th seed. So they have been favoured in every game! Nova will kick the shit out of them. Flordia lucked out last night. Should have been a held ball called at the end of the game. Instead the ref calls a foul and counts a basket on continuation.
even before the brackets came out, OP - I had them as my sleeper team - I didn't think they would be ranked so high in the tourney!!!

see my post on March 6 in this thread - before the committee set the brackets I said "my sleeper - the Florida Gators!!!"

LSU and UCLA in the final four

lets see what No.1 Villanova and No. 1 UCONN can do today.
Since my brackets are all fucked up im pulling for Nova and g.m. I did get 1 final 4 team right . The Bruins.

OK, heading into the regional finals I'm all set to have all 4 of my Final Four teams make it! Now, 24 hours later 3 of them have bit the dust. If 'Nova beat Florida I'm set, if not I'm F U C K E D !!!

Crap! George Mason beating UConn. This tourney is screwy.

And all the pundits were trashing the committee on selection Sunday. I can't remember how many times i heard George Mason didnt belong. This has been a screwey tourney but very exciting. I think it is one of the better ones over the last few years.

I cant believe it. I dont think anybody would have picked George Mason to upset UCONN. That totally surprised me. I thought for sure UCONN was going to be in the final four, but thats why they play the games. The better team won today.

Yep, I just figured UConn would turn it on when they needed to like they have been doing thrrought this tourney. That team just has too much talent to lose. Somebody needs to a light a fire under the teams ass.... especially Rudy Gay.

Calhoun did a poor job managing the roles on his team this year. He has always identified a go-to guy on his team, and identified roles on the team. Well this year he did not identify (perhaps intended) a go to guy, and this team just look lost sometimes. Either they passed on shots they should take, or they would take shots way too early as guys tried to play outside there role.

Sort of reminds me of the 1994 UNC Team that retuned basically everyone from the 1993 championship team, then added star freshmen in Rasheed Wallace and Jerry Stackhouse. The team became dysfunctional because there was too much talent.

Florida defintely lucked out on there draw this year. And they had athletic big men... exactly what was needed to beat the #1 seed that they drew in the bracket.

Nova has taken advantage of matchup problems all year.. used the small lineup to there advantage. Florida could stay big and still matchup. (Brewer and Noah especially)

Still can't believe this weekend's games.
there is quite a bit of talent in the mid-major conferences but everyone focuses on the big name conferences like the Big Ten, ACC, Big East, SEC, etc. When you watch college basketball on saturday afternoon, most of the time you see teams from the big name conferences and you do not get to see the good talent that some of these smaller colleges in mid-major conferences have - so when they knock off a big name school - it becomes an upset.

Having watched a number of smaller conference teams play, many deserve to be at the dance (as GM has proven). I'm just shocked that a team with 4 or 5 potential 1st round picks, all of whom are a serious threat on offense and defence, this year couldn't get it done. Now the only canuck left is glued to UCLA's bench.

Can't help but cheer for a guy called big baby.

UCLA and LSU caught me off guard. I knew they were both good but both teams are so young, I didn't think they would show this well. If Thomas of LSU doesn't commit to the draft, this could be a final 4 match up again next year. I think that UCLA the has depth to win but LSU has a couple big time players, gunning for NBA contracts this year. I think LSU will edge it out.

In the other game, it's all about the starters. Mason is more balanced but Noah is on a tear. He might be too much for Mason inside. If the gators can handle Butler on the perimeter, the game will be over early. If not, George Mason's hope is to just be on fire from 3.

Oh, for other addicts, NIT semifinals are on raptors tv tonight. Old Dominionn vs Michigan, South Carolina vs Louisville.

My non-money is on Michigan to take it.
