Food, medical, clothing, college, etc. It's a whole other person's bills that you're paying for until they're 18. 21, really.
Here is a calculator for computing the cost of raising a child:

I'm sorry; I don't understand. Why would one assume that an educated woman has to have children? If one is to co-relate education with fertility rate, I'd argue that a more educated woman = higher level of career attainment and therefore delayed/no kids.kacy said:I have built my business on being honest and for real, so I kind of take it as an insult when I get asked weither I really have an education and do not have children but at the same time I understand why there are these assumptions.
Oh! Had a much curious unbelieving customer recently, i see?kacy said:No I am not saying that. I am not attaching being educated with not having children. I said "I have built my business on being honest and for real, so I kind of take it as an insult when I get asked weither I really have an education and do not have children but at the same time I understand why there are these assumptions." to express that many seem to think that because I am an SP I am lying about my age, children and how much education I have.
Y'know..that love can get very, very expensive. These days, daycare is about 1100/month. And then schooling (private schools are about 20,000), college tuition and board, personal sacrifice of time...I guess I'm selfish that I think of these things first and then 'kids are about love'.papasmerf said:kids are not about money

Kids are certainly very expensive, and it is not the cash, it is the time. If I had put as much extra time into my career as I have into my kids, I would be King of the world now. But for me, I am glad I had the kids, it has been very worthwhile, more than anything else could have been for me.Serpent said:Y'know..that love can get very, very expensive. I'm glad kids bring you and PS happiness. Family is all one truly has, no?C Dick said:But for me, I am glad I had the kids, it has been very worthwhile, more than anything else could have been for me.
If your parents had that attitude, where would you be?Toad said:do not want the hassle and they cost too much. Plus why bring someone into this world it is going down hill fast.
Exactly. Although having some and or lots of money makes raising children easier it can not prepare you for the job of parenting.papasmerf said:kids are not about money
