And having lots of posts means nothing has my old account was over 500 posts and I had lots of reviews but if I asked questions I still got the famous "Use the search feature"

Several guys on here think they are gods cause they have money to spend to go visit these beautiful ladies 5 times a day and then comment on them.

And they post and since they are always opening their mouths here nobody attacks them.

BUT as soon as us low posters post something then we are shills.

The internet is an anonymous medium. We've no idea whom we're talking to, and the board has been burned MANY times by shills and fake posters. So its natural that the credibility of an unknown entity will be questioned at first. Its like that in the real world too - until someone knows you or you've built a bit of a reputation, they're not sure whether you're a reliable source of information. Its like that anywhere - the new guy has to prove himself.

Your opinions will start to be respected in here once:

a) you post a few reviews and
b) you post in other threads about other topics

The fakes will draw attention to themselves by dropping off the face of the TERB planet once their pet thread gets stale. If you're not a fake, then don't sweat it.

You're right CapitalGuy, but in the real world we don't normally cry out, "Shill!"

Perhaps we would be better advised to simply take the low posters' comments with a grain of salt, rather than immediately dump on them. Most of us, other than the forum managers, lack the means to prove with certainty the real motivation of any poster.

I hate to sound like the grammar police here, but I think you meant the "persecution" of the low poster... if you're in court over this right now, then I agree it's a "prosecution"

On the topic of your post though, yes people have been quick to call shill here in the past... but sometimes with good reason

Bottom line, everyone is ENCOURAGED to post. However fairly often we catch a SP impersonating a client and the very first post is an overly glowing review or an abusive post. The majority of the times it is indeed a SP.

As time went on, accusing NEWBIES of being a shill is just a way of seeing how they will react. Those that laugh it off sometimes end up being quite popular, those that take it personally...well, if you take something personally then maybe this board isnt the place for you.

The reason why we encourage everyone to post is to allow the sharing of information and to "spread" the community. There are those that just come here to check out the reviews and never contribute. There are those that come here, read the reviews and post occasionally and then there are those that are here to stir the shit. We like to discourage the shit stirrers from coming here period.

I created this thread after being slammed on another one (Jasmin in the news) for being a low-poster and a shill. All I did, was that I disagreed with a couple of posters and posted my own opinion on the article, and instead of arguing back, they started slamming me for my low-posts; as well as other low-posters. And there were in excess of 20 posts about that in the other thread, so I suggested moving this discussion here. Also, to clarify the disagreement was not about a review or anything like that, just this article about Jasmin.

And this topic seems to be popular with some people, but please, if you don't care, just ignore it and don't post.

I fully agree.... I have to admit though, it was kind of fun going at it with "these" people; I know I sounded like I was taking it too personal to some people, but I really wasn't. Half of the stuff they were saying was so funny.... they were cracking me up.

The other irony is that to "these" people, it mattered which side of the argument you were on, in a way, like the GWB approach, either you are WITH us or you are AGAINST us!!! For example, there was one poster who joined less than a month ago (and she claims to be an RMT!!), and all her posts were to SLAM this other MP. Which is fine with me, but it is just ironic, that these same guys who attacked me didn't say anything to her!!!

The only GOOD thing about replying to "these" people is that it will make them GO CRAZY at you, and will expose their true faces.

By the way, by "these" people, I am only referring to people that instead of replying to the topic that the low-poster brought up, they tend to slam and insult them.

Well it really depends what it is. A lot of times people with a smaller number of post are lazy (won't use search function), come here just to read others contributions (they read reviews but won't do any of their own) or just don't have a clue (are so new to the forum they don't understand it).

Since this is an online forum sometimes post count (not always), is the easiest way to know if a person knows what their talking about. Some think it is license to be rude and some too sensitive to feedback.

There is somewhat of a wolf pack approach to things here. For sure there are group of members that will post negatively or positively toward certain things. I never did read the thread that the op said this was allabout (it was kind of long) but sometimes guys use the smallest things to get their point across.
