I got one when the sale was on at Sears for $249 n I love it.

Todays news at the company’s annual developers conference in San Francisco with the BBX platform may help increase the sale of the Playbook, RIM said it is the first tablet certified for government use.

Finally, they announce OS 2 Beta! Supposed to be make it really easy to port over Android apps to the QNX platform that the PlayBook runs.

Let's see how this works out for them. The consumer space is rapidly being gobbled up by new 7" tablets such as the Kindle Fire and Kobo Vox.

I don't think Playbook as it stand right now will gain more traction even with the discount price tags. Running andriod apps in OS 2? Why don't I just go to get one of the (better designed) Andriod tablets?

Amazon has a very good strategy going forward on tablets, I think they could end up winning the not-iPad race....

you should be thanking hp for that fire sale which sparked public interest in lower pricing in tablets thus resulting in companies lowering prices

And now they annouce BBX won't be ready until February.. I guess they are happy to be a niche player at best because moving at this rate, they're not going to gain any marketshare % again.
