I talk to a lot of people everyday and the thing thats troubling me is that so many people are staying at home drinking there faces off
The pandemic has really made it worse for drinkers infact DUIS have gone up and I think when the bars closed in lockdown people just drank themselves to sleep
I used to be a drinker so im not judging them but it really is a serious issue that alcohol ruins so many lives

Better stay-at-home alcoholics than the alternative. I'm not sure where you got your DUI stats, because I couldn't find anything for Ontario beyond 2019, and while 2019 did tick up, that's a single data point, and the timing is in-line with the legalization of marijuana. And even so, the rate is historically low.

Hey…. You just mind your business over there…. I’m not an alcoholic…. I’m a common drunk. There’s a difference. Cheers! 🍻

I'm so glad I went sober a couple years before the pandemic. This all would have been so much worse while drinking. I really feel for people in addiction.

I've thrown in the towel on any aspirations or possibility that I'll ever stop. I realize it's taking a terrible toll on my body/brain, but I'm going down with the ship.

I used to feel this way, but now I'm almost 4 years sober. You can actually stop, you don't have to live this way. DM me if you ever wanna talk <3

Lol! No lives there. I had to actively make a decision to just give up alcohol altogether because once I started I couldn’t stop. The boredom… The boredom.

This is a result of the draconian lockdowns.

AA members weren't even allowed to go to their meetings.

In the long run there is going to be a steep price to pay for the policies that were implemented in Canada.

I like cocktails and red wine. Every once in a while I abstain for 30 days. I don't notice a difference, other than it takes me a little longer to fall sleep. I guess I'm lucky in that I can stop at any time and it doesn't affect my family, relationships, my business or anything else. I've seen what it can do to people with a serious addiction to it and it's awful. I feel sorry for those people, who for them is a need to get though their daily lives. While others can enjoy it without issue.

If you have a problem with alcohol, please seek the help you need. You will feel better in the long run.

Drinking at home or in the park will only continue to increase. $ 8.00 plus tip for a 16 ounce "pint" of domestic beer, being served by a disinterested server ? And this is
at most low end establishments as well. It is basically $50 for wings and 3 beers these days.....
