Crimson Tide - great movie. I think the error you're referring to is when Weapons calls up and advises that the Russians will have launch capability in seven minutes. The captain then tells the radio operator that he has three minutes to repair the radio. If the Russians may be launching nuclear missles in seven minutes, then the Alabama must launch their missles so that they strike the Russians in seven minutes. It won't be sufficient for the Alabama to launch in seven minutes.
If the Russians rebels will have capability to launch missiles in seven minutes, it does not necessarily mean the Americans have to launch missile before the Russian.
A salute is not necessary inside or aboard a ship or submarine, there are some special circumstances where a salute inside or aboard a ship/submarine is required.
The Captain leaves the control room at the end of the video and is not saluted, yet when he goes below the control room he is saluted many times within a few feet.
The reason for not saluting inside or aboard a ship/submarine is that people are in close proximity to each other and the Captain or senior officers would have to salute 15 times to try to get to the head to take a piss.

The size of the smiling face is 6. This can be formatted by selecting the text, then selecting 6 from the list box enabled by clicking the downward pointing arrow to the right of the Size icon in the formatting tool bar. Alternatively, the HTML tags for size can be typed before and after the text that is being resized, if you know how. I don't think the formatting tool bar appears if you use the "Post Quick Reply" button, but it should appear if you use "Reply" or "Reply With Quote".
For some reason, I was unable to apply a second formatting option to the single character of text. The colour is Ceiling Cat red, so I found a post of his that contained text, rather than just an image with embedded text. I clicked the "Reply With Quote" button, and copy/pasted the colour formatting HTML tags before and after the text.
Any time you want to copy someone else' formatting, or find out how they added some sort of picture, video, or other hyperlink, just click the "Reply With Quote" button, and use the same formatting syntax in your own post.
I know the Columbia River straddles the border (Washington State / B.C.), but I'm not sure if it flows north or south.
