Charles Lindbergh took only 4 sandwiches with him on his transatlantic flight.
Lindbergh packed lightly for his famous non-stop flight from New York to Paris, with just four sandwiches, two canteens of water, and 451 gallons of gasoline. The trip was over 3500 miles long and it took him nearly a day and a half to complete. Luckily, he didn’t get lost on the way there, or he would have been in really bad shape. He got caught up in some fog on the way over, he ended up flying to Ireland, and had to reorient himself to get to his destination. He even asked some of the local Irish fishermen for directions while still flying the plane by lowering his altitude and yelling at them!
