the hobby needs more capitalism
I suspect that the administration has recently upgraded TERB to a new version of vbulletin and have not reskinned yet. Am I right, admins? :)

I like the blue.

As for the layout, it could probably do with a little customizing and it sounds like they are working on it.

I'm sure that the old version was also awkward to use when it was first new and it's generic default settings were also not ideal...but it was improved over time as, I am sure, will this latest release. In addition, there will be new features for us to use and, more importantly, better administrative features for the mods and admins to manage the site.

I understand it's a bit of a shock to see it different, I was surprised too, but I can't believe so many people are moaning about it. Is everyone here so conservative and hide-bound that that cannot embrace a little change?

The price of change is a little transition so I suggest we give them a chance and see how it looks after a couple of weeks. In that time, we will have a chance to get comfortable with some of the newness and the admins will have a chance to customize some of the TERB-specific features back into the environment.

Change is good guys, don't be such curmudgeons.

The ‘search’ feature does not work, when do you anticipate that this feature will be fully functional?

I woke today, and it seems the world has gone blue. Please go back to what we all know and understand!

FutureLegend:

It's not just the colour, it's the entire format. Everything about this site is now different, from the basic layout of the pages to where the buttons are to do things. And some things are *entirely* different (not in a good way either), like how the private message system works, to even how I'm replying in this thread. The previous version of TERB was easy to learn, easy to use, and flowed in a logical, intuitive way. This new version 4.0 is disjointed, confusing, and counter-intuitive. It's not just a simple little case of some "tweaks" changing a lil' bit of this, a lil' bit of that, it's a *wholesale change* to a completely different format that's *inferior* to the previous one!

It's not just "going to be okay". This is a case of change for the sake of change which ends up making everything a bucketload worse.

As I said earlier ... Please, for the love of God, revert back to the previous version!!!
Yes, yes...it is so much more difficult to navigate and use now that we've only managed to fill up 4 pages in just over 2 hours since the change. It seems as if people are figuring out how to use it. You'll notice that the top left corner still shows the Vbulletin logo rather than the terb one. I'm sure that all of these items are on the list of items to be customized. Vbulletin is a standard software package that is used to run almost every online forum out there right now and when the upgrade was done, most custom features would have disappeared and gone back to default. You'll notice that the advertising banner that runs at the top of the page is also gone. I'm sure that getting that banner back up there is also quite high on the list of items to correct since (I'm sure) it's a major source of revenue for the proprietors of terb. Since the upgrade from vbulletin is not cheap either, I imagine that the decision to upgrade was for the benefit of the users, as well as the advertisers.

There are a couple of small items missing, but for the most part the changes seem to be for the better. I agree that we should post what actual issues there are so that the admin can correct the major issues.

Search doesn't work well...it does work, however. I'm sure that they just need to populate it with the Categories.
Chat doesn't work
Remember Me doesn't work for login....

Anything else?

Perhaps this is a good thing. maybe we should consider keeping less bright for that reason.
I don't think that the big tits flopping around in the sig pic are exactly inconspicuous either. I'm sure those would be noticed before some red background colours.

I have to be honest, I am NOT crazy with the New Look Terb, There are a number of questions asked here and in other threads that have not been answered by the administrators of Terb, that bother me more.
ADMIN--Please answer the questions-----
Where has Chat disappeared to?
You cant seem to search the threads like we used to, Why?
Having said this there ARE improvements, as stated above--Just answer the questions.... Put in a thread that we can ask questions and hopefully get answers...e.g. Q and A.
My 02 cents worth..

I agree, I want to know where the chat is too, as for the new look, well, I'll give it a few days :)

The banners and chat link will be reinstalled.
The new version has more features, I am not too concerned about the "look".
glad you are not concerned about the look----it's your board so i guess you can do what you want but i think it sucks big time

The new look will grow on me. I remember the lashback 3 years ago when the last version was the new version. It took a while for the eyes to adjust, just like this time.

Fred always knows what he is doing, that's for sure. I'm sure this is for the best. However, imho, I like Terb as red rather than blue.

Anyone with a memory long enough to remember what TERB was like before the switch to vBulliten will think this is just fine.
