Love it.

It may be their entry model, but it sure looks badass in matte black.

Great bike, ignore all these wannabees who say its a ladies bike or entry bike. Its a great price for a Harley and it looks real good too. I ride a road king but I would be happy to ride an 883.

The bike looks tough and is designed to appeal to a more youthful demographic. H-D is running a promotion in the states where you can trade in your recently purchased Sporty within 1 year and receive the MSRP towards a larger bike. Not sure if the same promo is applicable in Canada. As durexguy points out, the Sporty is an entry level model and it is a logical starter bike for a female rider. Then again, I've seen more than a few guys riding seriously customized Sportsters. Not sure of your size but a large rider can look a little out of place on this bike. Good luck...riding season will be here soon.

Nice bike, but the 883 is a ladies bike.
Not a nice comment from the "nice guy" A1, thought you were going to be kind to the newbies. ;-)

Maybe Inaluki is on to something getting a 'ladies bike to get the ladies to ride'...

I know not a Harley but I think you all get the picture. :-}

check closely. I owned an 883 for a while, it is pathetically underpowered for the size of the engine. I rode it for 2 seasons and traded it for a FX with the twin cam 88.

The 883 just isn't as good as all that, ride an 883, then ride any other full sized HD bike, and you will see the difference right away.

That is one of the most awsome pictures I have ever seen. I can almost smell the gasoline and oil!

What's the learned terb opinion on the Honda Shadow? I think it is now in a 750cc model. Not sure if they make the 1200 anymore.

883 is a big time chick bike.
Made cheap and small for the ladies.
Hey man, get a real Harley!

I love all the wannabe big, tough biker boys saying, "It's a ladies bike!" :rolleyes:

If the guy is a first-time bike owner, it's more than enough motorcycle. Any more than that and we'll be reading about inaluki being roadkill somewhere.

To the OP: do your thing man. Enjoy the ride and recognize that you'll probably want a little more bike after your first couple of seasons.

Ever since that "incident" with the ramp, my moto days are over but I really loved the Triumph 650 (or was it 750?). WEAR A HELMET!

Be careful with these bikes. They are not toys. Remember that hockey player (Bourdeau?) who died in the moto accident?
