That transfer would have f'd up everything...drive the prices up for other players hardcore. I am glad he is staying.

How about Spurs adding ANOTHER midfielder? That team will never improve if they keep going through managers like toilet paper. Each manager wants their players, so old 'Arry is going to blow more money in the summer.

Exactomundo!

At a time when 90% of Europe's clubs are in the red the Citizens should not behave like drunken sailors in a cathouse. Now let's see if they'll go ahead with their 65 million euro bid for DDR?

Speaking of Spurs they shouldn't give up on Lukas Modric so quickly, in time he'll be very good player for them.

What is going on with Steven Gerrard?

If you invite a professional athlete to chuck the knuckles, you are responsible for the pain he inflicts. But to take part in a three on one beating, that is inexcusable. Is this another bad example of England's culture of drink? Capello has repeatedly said that if England wants to win a major its players must give up alcohol. Obviously his words have had no effect if his star player isn't paying attention. Now Capello has lost face and England may be looking for a new manager.

Sorry, I don't see this as Capello losing face. Capello only has the players for a relatively short time compared to club managers. I can see Capello possibly sitting Stevie G. for a game or two but he really has little influence. Also, let's wait until the full story comes out. And I am no Stevie G fan on a personal level but he is a great footbal player.

Did he play today?

I think Lampard was hard done by that red card, definite yellow but I don't think it was a sending off. That being said, Chelsea created nothing that game prior to the sending off and I think Liverpool were full marks for the 3 points.

Andrea Pirlo was out due to suspension and Milan looked awful.

With all the hype about Beckham lets never forget who actually makes Milan tick - this is a match they deserved to lose. They were totally disorganized and Flamini looked clueless in Pirlo's place. Also, it's now clear that Ronaldinho and Kaka cannot co-exist on the same pitch. Kaka scored the tying goal after Rony was substitued for Inzaghi. Take into consideration that they have been without their defensive anchor all year (Nesta), Milan have overachieved actually.

Juventus's injury problems have caught up with them, they have lost their previous two matches. To make matters worse Giorgio Chiellini will not play against Brazil and is doubtfull for Chelsea. There will be no Italian club in the quarterfinals of the CL.

After the disaster against Atalanta, Mourinho replaced the erratic Maxwell with David Santon. Both Mourinho and Lippi are full of praise for this talented teenager and he appears to have settled Inter's nervous defense. He delivered a nice cross to Figo for the second goal. If he starts against United he'll get a football lesson, he'll have the task of marking C Ronaldo.

Liverpool's owners say title or else for Rafa - well I guess he'll be looking for work come May.

It's nice to see Hicks and Gillett take time out from prostrating themselves to Gulf Arabs to issue ultimatums. Unless Del Bosque and Capello become instantly available they are not going to get a better coach than Benitez.

Fiorentina are back in the CL zone. If it wasn't obvious before it is evident now, Seba Fray is the best goalie in the world. Fortunately he's not good enough to play for France...Domenech rules!:D

Portsmouth gave Liverpool that match with terrible defence.
Agree. Not sure where I read it but a lot of late money came in during the game on Liverpool to come back and win. Some bookies stopped taking bets...Just saying because it was strange to see such crap defence from a Tony Adams team.

I am still crying over this season. I am finally with you...Bendtner stinks.
Eboue is a waste of space. Finally, I can't believe Wenger and Gazidis said Arsenal can survive without Champions League footy, you can say goodbye to van Persie, Theo ( both going into last year of contracts this summer) and Cesc going back to Catalyunia. If we lose them, it will be a couple years before Arsenal are back in the top 4.

I am still amazed Domenech has a job after Euro 2008.

I am not sure Benitez is that great a league coach. Great at Cups but for me the jury is still out on him. Perhaps he is not that good a judge on talent, he has gone through a lot of players in his time at 'Pool. Other than Torres and Reina (no brainers really) he has bought a lot of average players.

Flamini is not a Pirlo type, never will be, he is more a Gattuso type of player. We will take him back at Arsenal in a heartbeat.

I think Roma has a good chance to make the quarterfinals, and I am an Arsenal fan. Totti is going to do a number on Alex Song. Totti is going to think Christmas came early. And with no Cesc (Arshavin not eligible), I cant see how van persie will get any service especially with Daniele De Rossi snuffing out Denilson and/or Diaby. This could get ugly.

I think ManU will too much for Inter, and Chelsea just dismissed Scolari so they are in turmoil. I can Juve getting through.

Arsene turned down a bid from Atletico Madrid for Eboue which pains me! That being said, Arsenal can still take Roma. They play better against better teams...

Surprised that Chelsea would be so quick to fire Gene Hackman. 7 months and he is gone, so impatient.

It's the impatiences of teams that causes this. The win now or else. The season is not lost and they already sack Scolari. Unless there's something else behind the scenes I don't get the quick release. (no MP pun intended)

How many mangers have Chelsea have sine Ferguson took over Man U?

Aside from Wenger & Fergie, there is no staying power in the EPL. Chelsea hit a small bump and they panic, complete knee jerk reaction. Lets suppose Mancini gets hired, if he wins nothing in the next 4 months is he too then fired? Same thing with Liverpool, if they come up empty Benitez takes the punt which would be odd too. Though that guy does make some weird managing decisions.

Don,t be surprised if Murhino ends up back at Chelsea
next season. The players clearly loved playing for him,
and they have,nt been the same since he left. Question
is, can Roman & him work out their power struggle.

Back in September it looked like the EPL was going to have one of the best title races, four possible contenders. However, by the beginning of March, ManU has the tittle pretty well won and two additional trophies in the bag with 3 more to play for. Conversely, over in Spain Barca seemed to be home and done and now they are in a fight with Real. I hope the Champions League stays interesting because as an Arsenal fan, I am actually at the point of not being concerned if they finish 4th and make next year's UCL. At this point Aston Villa deserves it more than they do.

Can you take Phillipe Senderdross back as well. This guy isn't even fit to play for Crotonese let alone Milan.

How the mighty have fallen! When Italy went to the Final of USA94, their entire defense was made up of Milanistas...now all they have is caca.:(
