For the purpose of this poll, if possible, it's assumed that all forms of sexual "service" ( SP, MPA, Dancer ) are the same; without shades of gray. I was uncertain how to word it, but wanted to keep it confined to black and white even though it may not be.
So you want 'Service' and Client categories.

No so long ago, I spend too much time thinking about it. Now I just let things lead where they may fall as one of the Confusious teaching. If he didn't say that, I'm sure he meant to as Eat drink Man woman Or should I look up what Kama Suta has to say...Hm, Goodtime to do more research.

The general perception of what implication?
That for some reason providers and clients are somehow less entitled to uphold a code of morality.

I like this scenario, because in a way it reduces it to exactly what it is and devoid of any stigmas and labels created by society.

I wasn't sure how to word the question, but maybe more correctly it should be a question of values rather than morality. That is, given that, for some, morality seems to hold some higher connotation, or that morality is seen as "universal" whether implicated by religion or a preconceived notion of what is right and wrong. For that reason I'm not sure this pole answered my question.

The other reason I was curious is because I find it kinda fucked up that anyone would participate in something they feel goes against their values for any length of time. Although not beyond comprehension, it just seems that if we are participating, then in essence, it has become part of our acceptable moral code.

I can see how a feminist "standpoint" could cause conflict. However I feel in taking on this line of occupation it can be a form of empowerment. After all, feminism is a continuum

FWIW I do believe it is perfectly moral; any possible negative side effects not withstanding.

Personally, I can't think of anything that embodies the essence of being a feminist more than being able to use my body, as I choose, to earn a living as I see fit.

Isn't that what we spent years fighting for?

I don't see any contradictions in this whatsoever. Then again, no one ever accused me of having overly high moral standards.

I completely agree... but I also recognize that even though women like you or I may be involved in the business because we've made the choice to do this kind of work, it's undeniable that many women around the world (including many in Toronto) aren't "working" under such privileged circumstance or conditions.

The question of how our choices intersect with the exploitation of others is not a moral quagmire that I think we can responsibly fail to consider. Which doesn't mean that I regret my own decisions or that I'm getting out. But it's an issue that troubles me...
