Someone said to me once, do you accept Christ as your King? I view The Redeemer in many ways, least of all as a king...I don't need no stinking king!

Henry VIII was a fat bloodthirsty tyrant who should have been aborted. He was a horny Josef Stalin. He goes and gets besotted by a teenage girl 30+ years his junior, with raging hormones. Katherine Howard is one of history's most tragic figures.

What I want to know is who is the insanely hot redhead who plays Katherine Howard?

Given that he was obese and covered with open, oozing, stinking syphilis sores, you could argue that she was fortunate that she died and didn't have to fuck him, I guess.

I don't get what the obsession w Henry VIII is w historical romance writers. The guy was vile - grossly fat, sadistic, egotistical, megalomaniac. Sort of like Trump on steroids with executioners on 24/7 call.

In 1970, Pope Paul VI beatified six victims of the English Reformation, among them was Edmund Campion.

The practice of the Virgin Royal bride went on till recently, no one suffered more from it than Lady Diana Spencer. From the start she was Princess in name only. She rebelled against The Windors making herself extremely popular in the process. The harsh reality, after her divorce from Chucky, she was living on borrowed time.

An amazing fact about Campion's martyrdom is that his blood splashed on Anglican Henry Walpole , a spectator at his execution. Walpole was so affected by this that he converted to Catholicism, and eventually became a Jesuit priest. He was then sent back to England to minister to the persecuted Catholics, eventually suffering martyrdom himself. Persecution of Catholics in England didn't end till after the Napoleonic wars, after large numbers of Irish Catholics had served loyally in the British Army.

William Byrd was a Catholic who was Elizabeth I's favorite composer. He never attended Anglican services which was compulsory in those days, under threat of imprisonment. Despite this, he was never arrested because Elizabeth protected him.

jeri you do amaze me at times, I didn't know who Henry Walpole was. He was beatified a Saint by Pope Pius XI in 1929.

William Byrd had the advantage of being one of the first composers to have his music published by printing press. Walsingham probably knew about his secret life but Elizabeth I protected him - it would have been an act of total barbarism to execute him. She didn't want that as part of her legacy.

I wonder how Christ would feel today when he sees what people have done to the religion and how much they have undermined The absolute love and what he actually stood for.

Thomas Tallis was another Catholic composer famous for a work especially composed for Elizabeth I's birthday: Spem in alium. The Queen was seated at the centre of a circle formed by the choir when this was sung to her on her birthday.

If Christ returned today, he would be arrested and tried for sedition. Humanity is a vicious beast.

England was developing a rich musical tradition during the late Renaissance and early Baroque period. It died out in the wake of the Puritan Civil War, to be revived by another English Catholic: Edward Elgar.

There are many Catholic ideas hidden in Shakespeare's work, leading many to conclude that he was himself a Catholic. Despite the abundant evidence, there is a lot of resistance to this idea in academia.

Religion is the single most divisive force in humanity’s existence.

Untold millions have been killed with religion as the main contributing factor - wars, genocides, crusades, and conflicts.

The only thing that rivals religion’s reign of terror is economic impoverishment - namely poor people not having the same access to food, clean water, shelter, safe working conditions, and healthcare.

Wrong again. The atheistic forces of Nazism and Communism have killed far more people than all the religious wars of the past combined. Who knows how many people are being put to death in Communist China even today with organ harvesting and mass imprisonment, done in complete secrecy?

Very true. Religion is the ultimate spiritual imprisonment. It goes against the fundamentals of what god is, what freedom of thoughts are, feelings, free will and reaching a state of actualization and connectedness with god and the universe.

Many prophets from the past would feel ashamed, disappointed and disapprove how people have hijacked religion for a selfish purpose to control others and have power over them and their thoughts and feelings.

I consider myself very spiritual person and believe in my own version of god and enlightenment however it is not religion. I am not saying religion does not get things right, many times it does because anyone who becomes enlightened gain access to the source code and gains access to ultimate knowledge and insight. It is what people and humans do with this knowledge that is the problem and how they hijack it for their own benefit and purpose like to gain control over people, their thoughts and their morality. Right now we have access to some of the most enlightened people from around the world and majority of them are from India.

We are all capable of reaching these enlightenment states. Sometimes it is just for a brief period and sometimes it keeps coming and lasts longer. However sometimes people are not capable of handling this connection and go crazy and lose purpose and meaning kind of like what happened to Jim Carrey and use this to spread propaganda and miss guidances. They call these people zen devils.

Probably the greatest song ever made explains this imprisonment...
