Back when I used to read reviews, I read reviews like that all the time and I still do from time to time. I've always been really put off by the way some guys talk about women, but there is nothing I can do. If you aren't the type of guy to write about someone like that (not a bad review, but one with a complete lack or respect for a woman as a person). Then you really shouldn't feel offended. I don't think their goal is to protect prostitutes from the average guy. It's to protect us from the deranged and mentally ill. The abusive, threatening and manipulative men that I'm sure we all have to deal with. I had to put up with a lot of verbal abuse and harassment from people who didn't get their way, or i wouldn't accommodate their ridiculous request or they just wanted to harass a "hooker" because they had nothing better to do. I really strongly feel like the whole movement is just to protect us from people like that. Because I'm sure there is no other industry where people have to put up with as much verbal abuse, threats, harassment and blackmail and then be talked about like a piece of garbage.
If any of you ever really got to know an escort and asked her about the kind of stuff she has to put up with, I'm sure she could go on for a while about it. The friends that know what I do think my job is awesome. But really it's hard and it's stressful. I'm on call all the time and I have to deal with assholes all the time. I get paid well, but I have to put up with a lot of bullsh*t and some days it just isn't worth it. Some of the things I have to deal with borders on being criminal, but I don't want to "out" myself and go to the police about it. It just becomes normal to be disrespected on a daily basis by some stranger through an email or to be called a c*nt or a disgusting pig or whatever because I won't do bbfs or give some strange guy huge discount.
Then there's the emails about how uneducated I am and how I must have been rapped by someone close to me and addicted to drugs and all the stereotypes associated with prostitution.
When instead these guys could have talked to me like a normal person. I wasn't trying to deceive them or rip them off. I would have treated them with mutually respect and if they wanted to ask me why I was an escort I would tell them.
