PETA killed the circus, apparently ticket sales just plummeted after under pressure from PETA and other such groups they retired the elephants.

Sad, but inevitable.

As an institution, a circus takes us back to simpler times, as they are as old as dirt. In this day and age, circuses have to compete with others in the entertainment field to make a living, as the consumer is pulled towards more flashier, cutting edge entertainment, like Cirque, or theme parks. Kids these days are used to more, like with their toys, more sophisticated, tech gadgets, flashy, they just don't sit and use their minds like the older generations had to in being entertained and entertaining themselves.

I hate clowns. A clown came up to me at a birthday party when I was a kid and I kicked him in the shin and ran away crying. LOL

Before he became an actor Burt Lancaster made his living as a circus trapeze performer.

Animal cruelty can no longer be tolerated. Marineland recently got charges level against them, so what else is new. I've known this for 20+ years.
