I first found this book at a small used book store in the mid 70's . The store was literally a home's garage. It's billed as A Classified, Simplified, Visualized Book of Answers. Based on the contents, I believe that this book was used as a textbook or encyclopedia in multiple grades of school at whites only rural one room school houses in the southern United States. A majority of the kids would not have formal education beyond grade six or eight.
I have the 1924 edition, and the 1917 2nd edition is downloadable or viewable online, link below.
Seems that much of it was translated from some German book, and compiled with an agenda. This was also the time of the resurgence of the Ku Klux Clan in the South, and the film Birth of a Nation.

Regular slave raids are made from time to time, when, after stubborn resistance, the pupæ and older larvæ of the weaker form are carried away to lead a life of bondage, to which, indeed, they take very kindly. This kind of social economy has indeed become an absolute necessity to the slavers, which have quite lost the power of feeding their own young, while some such species cannot feed themselves. A most extraordinary state of things occurs in the case of a small kind of ant (Anergates) which possesses no workers of its own, but lives within the communities of another species (Tetramorium cæspitosum) entirely made up of workers. Some ants, such as the little black species (lasius niger) common in gardens, use as part of their food a sweet fluid that exudes from plant lice (aphides), and keep these insects as we keep kine. The captives are fed, sheltered, and jealously guarded. Fenced enclosures are constructed for them on plants in the vicinity of the nest, with which they are connected by covered roads. During winter the fragile eggs of the plant lice are taken underground and sedulously cared for.
Some sections seem designed for different primary school grade levels. The Book of Races and Peoples is particularly disturbing,
This begs an interesting question. The original publisher was acquired many years ago by a company still in existence, I wonder if they have any legal liability for being the owners of a prior publisher of hate literature. The company claims that they just print copies of books in a quantity ordered. They were busted for printing Bibles that had additional text added by the FreeMasons. None of the Bible was changed or removed.
