The legacy will be interesting. Was he as stupid as some would make him out to be with Cheney running the show or was that a media created profile ?

He did succeed in one thing that most people thought impossible - he made Nixon look not so bad.

I haven't watched the programme in question but I think, to give the man his due, he did do good things for Africa with regard to AIDS. Nonetheless, in most areas, he's been a disaster for the US and the world. Sort of a big kid who didn't have the requisite seriousness for the job. If Cheers were still around, I could see him guest starring on it.

Bush still has 70 days to make his legacy worse. Having lived it, we may lack perspective as to "worst." In the next 10 weeks I will be looking at the following to see if they could possibly have been as bad:

James Buchannan - Failed to stem the conflicts that grew into the Civil War;

Franklin Perce - Another Antebellum failure;

James Polk - Mexican War, a dark chapter in US history unless you are a fan of bullies.

Warren Harding - Possibly even more prone to insider dealings than Dubya, may bear a lot more responsibility for the Great Depression than H. Hoover.

It was CLEARLY not an unbiased piece of journalism.

Maybe not but the information garnered came from a collection of prominent Republicans and administration officials.

There was nothing in the documentary that surprised me (except for the part where Bush wanted to see the head of his enemies.....now that is some freaky shit!).
