The first season already aired in the US. it's an excellent series, hopefully CTV won't be censoring anythything
only 10 episodes long i was so disappointed when it was over...thankfully it has been given a second season

I saw the first season and wouldn't say it was great but at the same time it kept my interest.

I would characterize it as more of a thinking mans series with immense political a religious insight into the times of that era.

I saw the first episode as I am a history buff and I once dated a girl who was a previous bedpartner of JI. Have to admit that I got bored with the lack of action and dynamism in the plot and gave up on it. It didn't seem to have a lot of punch.

Downloaded the first season from Showtime and must say that we found it to be a really good entertaining series. Far better than the crap that's shown on regular network TV. Another good series to watch (download) is Game of Thrones. Gotta love many of the series on cable. The day of network television for drama is long gone.

I loved Game of Thrones, great entertainment!! I can't wait for season 2
I think in the meantime i might read the books
