"The best thing to do is to kill all the feminists and hippies and liberals"

I strongly agree with the basic premise of the article. Men and women are indeed psychologically different from each other. On an individual level, most anyone that attempts to deny or disown something about themselves that is considered "hard-wired" into their psyche will have various psychological issues, even if only very mild. And I do agree that there are groups within society that do put pressure on individuals to deny or disown things that are "hard-wired" into us.

However, do I agree with the conclusion to "kill all the feminists and hippies and liberals"? Absolutely not (and in all fairness I think the author was being sensationalistic)!! From a humanistic point of view, it takes all kinds in this world of ours - it's what makes being alive interesting. The constant struggle that a human faces is to accept/reject things from their environment based on a strong ego function, and to grow as an individual within it.

To that end, I'll quote a less sensationalistic passage of the blog post. It is one that I strongly agree with and in my opinion should be the main message of the article (as opposed to the sensationalistic tripe that will no doubt be taken from it):

"Teach boys and girls that they are different, not the same, and that it’s okay (nay, wonderful) to be different. One is not right and the other is not wrong. Stop telling girls that they are inferior versions of boys, as feminists have done for the last half century, or, as has more recently been the case, stop telling boys that they are inferior versions of girls.

Live as you feel like, not as you think you should live like. Your feelings are seldom wrong, because you are designed to feel certain way by millions of years of evolution"

A little surprised that Psychology today would willingly lend credibility to that kind of crackpot. Since when does evolution progress backwards instead of forwards??

A very valid premise....

'Live as you feel like, not as you think you should live like. Your feelings are seldom wrong, because you are designed to feel certain way by millions of years of evolution. "

...invalidated by a very blatant axe to grind. He could have made the point above without having to take on women or feminist...or without making such very broad sweeping generalizations.

Methinks he should probably be spending sometime on someone's couch as well...

I agree with 3tees. That sentence was put there to shock. Yes, women and men are different. Should men be the providers and women the nurturers...maybe.

There is socio-anthropological data that would contradict what he said. Furthermore, this is "dumbed-down" science, designed for public consumption. It's like reading A Brief History of Time and claiming it's about astro-physics. As it may be insightful, there's much more that only those with a PhD may understand.

3Tees, you took the words right out of my mouth! I was even going to quote what you have above for I too feel that the blogger would have had a much more rich message had he not overindulged in extreme and generalized statements about hippies, feminists and liberals.
