it is a decades long project

the timeline from drilling to initial production in Alaska is likely 18 months - its a difficult environment to work in
much longer if pipeline infrastructure is required
more likely 5 years to get to its projected peak of 180,000 bbls per day
meanwhile the world consumes 90 to 100 million bbls / per day
this oil field alone will not move oil prices

i bet you thought it is just a matter of drilling a hole and then opening a valve

if sleepy joes did this to 'help stabilize world oil prices' he is a clueless as you


no, he spent a lot of political capital to approve this as his advisors have finally figured out the energy crisis they created will become much worse

Biden also added more conserved land as part of this deal.
Sounds like he thought it was a compromise solution, but too big a price to pay.

It makes me sort of laugh that Fox is so hyper focused on her. Why? Is it because she is an eloquent speaker who bitch slaps GOP stupidity? Is it misogyny....Probably. We've seen time and time again how the GOP attack women. From AOC and the Squad to Nancy Pelosi and Hillary Clinton.

But, there are things you can slam her on. It is true, she hasn't really passed any substantial legislation. But the bullshit Fox pushes out...mind blowing. The interview with AOCs former opponent is pretty funny. She basically lies that AOC is uninformed, or a job killer....just like Kevin O'Leary.

Maybe you can realize that the common denominator between these women and AOC and the other 3 in the quad, is that they are all women.

Women in politics are mercilessly attacked in USA, no matter what ideology they believe.
