I put a lot less blame on Harris personally. Yes she is a terrible candidate, but none of this was explicitly her doing. She is just another cog in the DNC-Legacy Media machine.
I don't blame Harris either - the DNC has chosen to completely ignore rural America and it's cost them dearly in two of the last three cycles. That combined with Biden's horrible decision to run again....Much to my personal chagrin, progressivism in the US got dunked on. No idea where they go from here.

Some of progressivism has some political appeal, but as a broad movement or package it does not. Political parties regroup and repackage their message. It's the normal state of affairs. The Republicans now have to deliver. It's not an easy job running the U.S.

The Democrats have a big task because their almost obsessive focus has been Donald Trump and his character for eight years. They need to develop a stronger identity that resonates with average people. It will be interesting to see what the Republicans do beyond Trump.

With that, let's also realize that the electoral college can magnify the result.

id love to see a pragmatic, popular progressivism take hold, but I’ve long since given up on that.
That's what Trump is and it's why he got elected.

You have to get through his narcissism, mean-spirited vitriol, and bullying to see it... but that's what he is.

Liberals are a cross between traditional neocons (Cheney et al. big money elites for war) and radical leftism (gender conversion for kids, men in women's sports is okay but the patriarchy is evil, soft on crime and illegal immigration as you watch your city descend into chaos). They inhabit a rotten and very sick political space.

Wow, she has a similar annoying voice as her loony brother.

See Kerry Kennedy's warning about her brother and Trump

Frankly I believe this kind of pragmatic progressive policy doesn’t happen in part because foreign actors elevate the most hysterical and divisive voices, and the leftwing political and media establishment is too afraid to challenge any of it.
Hmm........I presume by foreign actors you're talking about the Russians and Chinese not the stars of French cinema and the West End stage.

No, I disagree. Right now, the Democrats themselves as a body seem to feel compelled to go along with every crazy idea that gets cooked up by the far left. Did you see California Proposition 36 get resoundingly passed by the California voters? This was the proposition to eliminate the $950 shoplifting threshold and increase penalties. Why were our friends in Sacramento fighting this? Harris wouldn't support the proposition in her home state. They might still try to fight its application.

Some of the stuff progressives push you just can't make up.

I think playing to the Hamas vote would have cost her alot more votes among people who don’t support terrorists who live stream their atrocities than she would gain by siding with Hamas.

Hamas support; much like support for men who want to prey on women and girls via genderwang, is a pet project that extremely online people feel very strongly about but which revolts and disgusts the majority moderate voters.
This is one of the conflicts within the Democrat's broad coalition......perhaps too broad.

Wow, her brother sounds that way because he has spasmodic dysphonia.

I wonder if she has the same condition.

Playing to the genocidal racist types didn't work out.

Did Trump talked about Arnold Palmer's genitals during his acceptance speech?
