Im no longer a proud fan of my home town Leafs Ive really had enough. The Fucking Shit head management do not care about putting a compettive team on the ice and only care about the million dollar season ticket platinum members.

Why cant you other fans of this shit pathetic gross club understand they (the MLSE Group) do not care about winning and understand every game will sellout no matter what.

You may think I have no clue, but just think of all the None hockey markets that have great teams with exciting young talent such as http://www.nhl.com/nhlstats/app
or just watch Nashville, carolina, Colorado, Atlanta, Ovechkin, SanJose, Ottawa (only because they have been shit for so long and have a Torontonion owner that wants to win)
You guys sound like Cubs fans.

I agree. The Leafs are the most profitable team in the NHL. And don't don't even win games...go figure. As long as we keep paying high ticket prices and selling out games, why should they pay more for better talent when they can just pocket the cash.

CONCLUSION: They are making serious money hand over fist so why should they spend millions more for a REAL chance at a cup when there is no single egotistical face/owner of the organization who wants to realise that dream?
I don't really understand the above statements when there is a salary cap in place. The Leafs may be making tons of money, but with a salary cap, they can't spend any more money on salaries than the smallest of the small market teams. And look at the salaries that they are paying to some of their defencemen. There is a case of spending too much money. No, the problem is 40 years of incompetence, plain and simple. JFJ is just the latest manifestation of that incompetence.

'93 was close to gettin to the dance , in a cinderella fashion..(shoulda thrown Gilmour outta the game for head butting Mcsorely.. then he wouldn't have heaad in the way of gretz' stick..butt thats another thread) other than that , I don't think so .. but if those seasons were close enuff for you.. rock on !!

to me Edmonton was close last year , calgary the year before that..
getting to the finals is close..

do you really think that Toronto didn't make it because Gilmour was high sticked? unbelievable!

New Jersey made it to the big game having Niedermayer knocked out from Domi's concussion-laden elbow... a much worse incident, IMO... and also, under penalized as it didn't affect the result of the game... and in no way was Domi as integral to his team as Scott Niedermayer was to his. However, Scott Niedermayer was 1 of a few disputed league's #1 Dman at the time.

If you guys are griping about the leafs already you ain't real fans. we've had way worse teams in the last thirty years. don't you remember the dynamic goaltending tandem of bester and wreggit when they were both rookies?

i remember being at a game and sitting behind wreggit's GF and mom -- didn't know it at the time, but you could tell when the fans starting cursing wreggit and the GF, fresh off the plane from saskatafuck of wherever she was from, started crying here eyes out. welcome to the big time.

and then when wreggit went bad, you had to replace him with bester (who, mind you, was a step up from cira). those were times you wouldn't even concieve they could win a game despite the brilliant strategems of mike nykoluk, or john brophy, or mike foligno (who's claim to fame was this spastic jump he'd perform the odd time the puck would bounce off him and end up in the net)

and then there was the time vaive was the captain. Vaive used to get the shit kicked out of him in front of the net every night and the fans still ripped him (and he was our best player).

... well maybe not, maybe it was bill derlago. or maybe it was rob ramage who made ken klee look like bobby orr. or walt podubny. or terry clancy for god's sake.

All I'm saying is c'mon, we've had way worse teams than this one. it's no where near time to jump off the wagon, there's still plenty of interesting times ahead. myself I'm looking forward to the time both Carlo and Andropov are on the ice together as I think there's a fifty fifty chance they could skate into each other. Nick will rip his knee and Carlo will end up making Brent Lindros look like a mensa member.

If you've already had it, you don't know the meaning of the world suffer.

All I'm saying is that if you are a leaf fan you have to know that this is our lot in life, it will never change. If it did change Muslim's and Jews would be embracing each other, global warming would be just another crackpot theory and the lion would lie down with the lamb. It is an honourable thing to support a team that is doomed to fail and break our hearts. It takes gumption. Right now they are just dissappointing, not truely terrible.

Remember when the Leafs made the playoffs under Brophy for the first time. It was great. the leafs were in the quest for the cup and JB was gonna be flash so in a moment of inspiration he decided to doff this black fedora for the first game.

As so fedora's were given out to the crowd at MLG as a promotion. We were walking the walk and talking the talk.

And the team was crushed. Decimated. and the ice of MLG was littered in black fedora's. The sign of bravado was now a sign of digust.

And John never wore that hat again.

To be a leaf fan is to believe and then be crushed.

Here is every basketball ever played.

Just take all the excitment out of hockey and have each team practice power playes back and forth and then you have Boring Ball Opps I mean Basketball.

Yes the management in Toronto suck but the thing is every year we expect the cup. The problem is that the team just isn't that good. Sundin and Peca are getting old. Raycroft will probably be a bright spot for the team. But he is a goalie that will keep us in games not win games for us..... so there has to be some solid scorers stepping up or good defensemen helping out. Problem is that I don't really see the Leafs having the help tha Raycroft needs to win games. As for the change in coaching it wasn't a bad idea the previous coach had enough of a chance and it was time for a change.

Don't get me wrong I like Sundin, Peca and Tucker but the team just isn't strong enough to contend.

I'll be happy if the leafs just make a play off run.... how far they get is just gravy.

He was not a superstar. Nowhere close to it.

He was a star.. some years, but straddled the lower end of the scale.
