Thanks for the help guys.

I just want to thank everyone who helped me the other day when I asked for help on how to up load Maxim`s new video. Not many people answered, but those who did offer their help were given a little something special. It might not be much but its my way of thanking those who took the time to help answer an important question. Here is the link to view Maxim`s new video.

Now I have another question that has been troubling me for the last few days. Its not a really big deal but its something that has been stuck in my head. I am sure everyone knows about sleep country`s famous "Mix & Match" sale.

Now I know some people might think I am a little crazy, but what I am wondering is.. How do they get the different colored mixed mattresses and box springs for their Mix & Match sale? I know from experience that when you usually buy a mattress or a box spring, you don`t get to pick the colour or design. The style you choose only comes in one choice and has no options. So where are the mismatches coming from?

So if anyone has an answer to this question, please let me and others know. I don`t know about anyone else but I am dying to know what your answers might be. Those who are the most helpful and provide the best responses will get a small little gift for your time and energy.

Thanks so much for your help..

Good evening Madam.

You look very nice, the blue you are wearing really brings out the complementary shade of your eyes. Very alluring.

I must tell you I was so enthralled I could not read your full enquiry. So I will address your concerns that I did review.

Most probably you are not a little crazy. Maybe it is true you are overworked. Often overworked people suffer stress; stress manifests in odd ways. Diet, sleep, uncomplementary people, deviant sexual practices "A Rebours" as Huysman's famous book is called.

Have some mint tea, natural yogurt with honey, perhaps a massage.

This mis-matched mattress phobia will surely recede.

Well, I don't think you're crazy either. I wondered about this as I have recently purchased a mattress. Sometimes during deliveries before/after shipping to the customer or the warehouse, some pieces of the set get damaged (either the mattress or box spring).

Now instead of throwing out an entire set, they can mix and match all the odd pieces of different colours/designs as long as they're of the same size.
;)

Quick question... Did the split box spring you got match the same design/colour as the queen size bed you originally bought?

Thanks

Interesting. I think you may have found another plausible answer yourself. I had the same situation where I had to get the split box springs and they did match the mattress as a set. I imagine that they cannot predict all the possibilities of split box springs of Queen and King sized sets. Every now and then they would have an odd number left.

When you go to the store, they have a separate price for the boxspring and the mattress. You don`t have to buy them as a set. Some people want to replace their mattress and don`t need a box spring, since the box spring doesn`t wear-out as quickly as a mattress. Also, if you buy a bed with a full posture board you don`t need a box spring. You need only the mattress. Now the store knows that they will sell more mattresses than box springs for this exact reason, so they order MORE mattresses than box springs.

Hence, the store ends-up with unmatched sets!!

Oh, for Fuc* Sake.

The mix and match sale is a MARKETING GIMMICK. Nothing more. It is simply an EXCUSE to lower the price to a 75% markup so that you think they are being forced to liquidate the inventory.

You don't think they can find a pink to go with a pink?

I bet you wonder how they get the caramilk into the caramilk bar.

Another great answer. I forgot that you don't have to be an entire set but only buy the pieces that you need. Usually the box spring is only 20% of the cost for a new set, or even less.

I don't doubt that it's also used as a marketing gimmick to hide the fact that the prices for mattreses are extremely inflated. Don't you think in the end that they'd still end up with odd pieces here and there though?
thetank, Nicole, and myself came up with 3 possibilities of this.

I understand that you can get a mixed match set if you put Brand A mattress with Brand B's box spring. But I was really talking about was getting mixed matched colors/fabrics with the same brand and style bed.

Thanks

I would imagine that you'd probably just have to be lucky enough that they would have Brand A mattress with Brand A box spring of different colour/fabric available. When being choosy for the same style and brand, you'd begin to lose your leverage on the "sale" price. Some salespeople can be very helpful but I think they would begin to give a less desirable price if they're having to do a little more leg-work in a place where many of their customers are lying down.:D

they make the chocolate top first, just an empty shell, like an egg carton. This is set so the cavities that hold the caramel are up, then liquid caramel is poured into the cavities. A layer of chocolate is poured over this to become the bottom of the chocolate bar. I think...

Nope. They pour hot chocolate onto a chilled conveyor that is the mold for the bar. This causes the chocolate on the bottom to harden. The caramel is then extruded into the chocolate, which is still liquid near the top.

Usually mattress manufacturer will use difference colour or fabrics for the same brand and style bed for difference market (ex, Canadian style in white and the US style in blue; but both looks the same). Therefore, any add out mattress or spring box (because some customers only need the mattress or some spring box was damage from shipping) will be ship back to the manufacturer's warehouse. Once in awhile the manufacturer will offer the retail partner a big discount on those items just to clear out their inventory. Therefore, that is how Sleep Country get the Mix and Match sales.

mattress/boxsprings.... mainly it's a huge marketing gimmick but they do have some genuine mismatched stuff for all the reasons stated above.

Caramilk bar: done as the first poster said... if it was done the way the second poster said you would see some caramel coming out the bottom of the bar. Plus when you break up the bar you see that there are threads of caramel "connecting" the pockets which is indicative of the nozzle squirting into one and then moving to the next trailing a bit of carmel as it goes.

I bought just a mattress as I have an ikea bed with the bed base. And I'm sure people buy just a box spring if theirs broke but the mattress was still good... so they're left with many peices without the exact match.
