The Canadian goalie is really good. Technique and movement.
Poulin reminds me of Doug Gilmour with her playing style. The game is better than previous years. More speed more skill

Canada and the United States again, not a very competitive tournament when it’s 99% certain who will be in the championship game, and it’s hard to get excited when it happens again.

Of the 20 World Women’s Hockey Championships 19 have had a Canada-US final...of the 7 Olympic Gold medal games of Women’s hockey since it became an Olympic sport 6 have been Canada-US.

Ya ya, good for them...

It is because of the previous years that today's teams (Canada and US) are so much better today. Those past teams inspired new generations of young women to take up the game and as a result, better coaching, training and opportunities to play and hone their skills became available to them and we now see the result.

Congrats to our Golden Girls/Women.

I watched the entire game plus the medal ceremony. Canada went defensive halfway through the game, 1- 2- 2 which is not always a good idea.

I don't have any nude pics of the Canadian team so the pics below will have to do.

Ok so the Olympic tournament there is really only 1 game worth watching on the women's side. Take it for what it is. At least these 2 teams are competitive. I personally found the women's 3 on 3 US vs Canada the most interesting to watch of the All Star game when they had it and I don't necessarily enjoy the women's game overall.

But it's women's hockey, if data from the soccer world applies they would get beat by a regional team of 14 year old boys.

So, you must be happy that trans athletes are going to be allowed, they should up the game a lot...

If I wanted to watch men compete, I'd watch men's sports not some nerfed dude exploiting their advantages over women because the people who run sports don't have the gonads to stand up to them and reality.

This has been discussed here before...They do get beat by 14-16 year old boys. That's who they play a lot of exhibition games against for better competition. Put them against a men's Junior C team, and body contact aside, they'd get creamed badly.

As a free pass time, I would watch CAN vs. USA for entertainment value, taking it for what it is. Once you say you want to charge people money to watch it, and pay female players to play, I say full stop. Quality of the product doesn't merit it. I'd rather pay $20 to see Midget AAA than women's prof. or Olympic/World Championship hockey.

The women's rivalry between the two countries got me hooked years ago.

I don't care whether midget boys could cream them or not. It's the intensity and tenacity that drives me to watch.

And I know that the competitiveness isn't there on the world stage but it wasn't for men's basketball and hockey not that long ago either.

Poulin just amazes me how she can rise to the occasion time and time again. Nothing but respect for her.

Fair points, Oracle - I guess it all depends on what each individual is looking for in the ladies game. Party on!

I coach soccer from 13 to 16 year old. I do not coach d1 team but I know how they are and how strong and fast they are. Together an elite team of 14-16, like the Dallas Academy that beat the women national team, is perfectly normal. Many of these guys are 2 years away from pro league. They are strong.

This is why having a trans athlete compete against non trans women is totally unfair.
