Charlie Sheen blames meltdown on testosterone creamActor Charlie Sheen is convinced testosterone cream is to blame for his highly-publicized 2011 meltdown.

The actor staged a series of bizarre media interviews and an ill-fated U.S. comedy tour after a public feud with bosses of his hit TV show Two and a Half Men led to them firing him over his erratic behaviour.

Sheen has vehemently denied allegations drink and drugs were the root of his problems as he attempted to recover from the loss of his show, and now he confesses he believes a topical solution he used to boost his energy levels and libido was the cause.

He tells U.S. TV host Katie Couric, "I think I was doing too much testosterone cream, and I think it metabolized into... a steroid. I think it was a bit of a roid rage. That's the only thing I can point to to explain (it). There was no booze, no pain pills, seriously there was nothing, there was no street drugs."

The 47 year old eventually got his life back together, and landed a leading role on new series Anger Management, and he's thankful his actor dad Martin Sheen was there to knock some sense into him.

He adds, "He was very supportive. He didn't know who he was talking to, he wasn't talking to the real guy, he was talking to some version of me. So he backed off and then when it all slowed down and came to a stop, he said, 'Let me give you advice: Get back to who you know you are, go get your money from the studio and take care of your kids.' That was great advice. I did all three."

Are you sure its a cream? Prescription testosterone in Canada is usually in a gel form that is absorbed by the arms and shoulders...you can look up Androgel...140 bucks a month when you don't have a drug plan.. and the results are mixed as if it does anything for your libido

cream or gel it is rubbed onto your arm

unless injected by a specialist

I read about it via an ad on my doctor's waiting room wall

the ad said it was meant for libido improvement but that could be all marketing as MD's are bombarded by salesmen like no other profession

that is all i know

and i have a drug plan

I take Androgel...doesn't do anything for your libido really.
It will get your testosterone levels back up to normal levels though
After a few days of taking it, you will feel like Superman for about a week...this will be a result of both your testicles producing testosterone, and the synthetic stuff you are rubbing on to your arms..After a week, you come back down to earth. your balls essentially stop production of testosterone...and unfortunately your balls do shrink in size.

The biggest benefit of taking andogel for me was that I dropped 20-25 pounds...highter T means a little less body fat..but only to a certain point..you won't have ripped abs.
After being on this stuff for almost 2 years I find that the only benefits are that my T levels are normal on paper now, and I have a little more energy.

anyone besides Plan B have any experience with testosterone cream?

from http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/testosterone-therapy/MC00030

The possibilities of testosterone therapy are enticing — increase your muscle mass, sharpen your memory and concentration, boost your libido, and improve your energy level. As you get older, testosterone therapy may sound like the ultimate anti-aging formula. Yet the health benefits of testosterone therapy for age-related decline in testosterone aren't as clear as they may seem. However, treating normal aging with testosterone therapy is not currently advisable.
